Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans under supervision of a BCBA.
  2. Conduct one-on-one and small group therapy sessions to teach communication, social, and adaptive living skills.
  3. Collect, record, and analyze behavioral data to monitor progress and guide intervention strategies.
  4. Apply behavior modification techniques, including positive reinforcement and prompting hierarchies.
  5. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  6. Assist in developing and adjusting behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on data trends.
  7. Use evidence-based strategies to decrease maladaptive behaviors and encourage skill acquisition.
  8. Conduct discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and incidental teaching sessions.
  9. Provide in-home, clinic-based, school-based, or community-based ABA therapy sessions.
  10. Prepare detailed progress notes and maintain documentation in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  11. Support clients in generalizing learned behaviors across various environments and settings.
  12. Maintain client engagement and motivation through personalized reinforcement systems.
  13. Participate in supervision meetings and professional development sessions for continued growth.
  14. Implement data-driven decisions to modify session plans and behavior goals.
  15. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about treatment updates and progress.
  16. Follow safety protocols and ethical guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  17. Assist with skill assessments, such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS.
  18. Provide feedback and training to family members to reinforce therapeutic techniques at home.
  19. Utilize digital tools and software for data collection and session tracking.
  20. Uphold professional conduct, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in all client interactions.

Secondary Functions

  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Familiarity with behavioral assessment tools such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, and AFLS.
