Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Administer and coordinate employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state leave, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, and personal time off.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requesting or managing leaves, providing clear communication and guidance throughout the process.
  3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company leave policies, as well as ADA and HIPAA regulations.
  4. Review medical certifications and documentation to determine eligibility and approval for leave requests.
  5. Maintain accurate and confidential leave records and documentation in HRIS or leave management systems.
  6. Partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate pay and benefits continuation during employee absences.
  7. Communicate leave approvals, denials, and return-to-work requirements in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Collaborate with third-party leave administrators or insurance carriers to process disability or workers’ compensation claims.
  9. Track and monitor employee leave balances, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation of leave data.
  10. Coordinate with managers to plan coverage and workflow adjustments during employee absences.
  11. Conduct return-to-work interviews and reintegration processes to ensure a smooth transition for returning employees.
  12. Assist with the development and implementation of leave-related policies and procedures.
  13. Provide training and support to managers and HR staff on leave laws, processes, and best practices.
  14. Generate and analyze reports on absence trends, utilization, and compliance metrics.
  15. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in leave administration.
  16. Serve as a liaison for ADA accommodation requests, coordinating with HR and legal teams as needed.
  17. Ensure all employee interactions uphold confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism.
  18. Stay informed of legislative updates impacting leave management and employee benefits.
  19. Support audits by providing accurate leave records and compliance documentation.

Secondary Functions

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
