Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Command and operate the aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations at all times.
  • Conduct detailed pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, fuel calculation, route selection, and aircraft performance assessment.
  • Supervise and coordinate with the First Officer, cabin crew, and ground operations to ensure all pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures are completed accurately.
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness by reviewing maintenance logs, inspection reports, and conducting walk-around safety checks.
  • Make critical in-flight decisions regarding navigation, route adjustments, or diversions to ensure safety and compliance with FAA, EASA, or applicable aviation authorities.
  • Manage all aspects of crew resource management (CRM), ensuring effective communication and teamwork in the cockpit.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor flight instruments, engine performance, and fuel consumption to optimize efficiency and safety throughout the flight.
  • Communicate effectively with air traffic control (ATC), dispatchers, and airline operations centers regarding flight status, weather, and routing updates.

  • Proficiency with modern avionics, Flight Management Systems (FMS), and Autopilot systems.
