- Lead emergency response for production incidents (equipment failure, fire, chemical release) and coordinate with HSE, local authorities and management to resolve and document incidents.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, quality, shipping and customer service teams to resolve product, delivery or quality concerns quickly and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to metallurgical process controls (alloy chemistry, temperature profiles, cooling rates) and collaborate with metallurgists to optimize mechanical properties and reduce reject rates.
- Drive a culture of continuous learning by instituting cross-training programs, succession planning and competency matrices to ensure site resilience and flexible staffing.
- Implement and maintain quality management system requirements (ISO 9001 or equivalent), participate in internal and external audits and close audit findings promptly.
Secondary Functions
- Assist with site-level budgeting and capital project planning by providing operational input and justifications for equipment or process investments.
- Support development of SOPs, work instructions and process documentation and ensure staff access, understanding and adherence to documented procedures.
- Support ad-hoc production analyses, provide operational input to product costing and participate in new product trials and qualifications.
