Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead the end-to-end seasonal assortment planning process for assigned apparel categories, defining assortment architecture, SKU counts, size and color distribution, price points and lifecycle phasing to maximize sales and margin.
  • Manage weekly and monthly merchandising P&L responsibilities including sell-through analysis, margin optimization, promotional planning, markdown management and recovery strategies to hit revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts at the SKU and size level using historical sales, trend data, market intelligence and input from planning to set replenishment and open-to-buy plans.

  • Supervise and coach a cross-functional team of merchandisers, assistant buyers and coordinators, establishing clear goals, performance metrics, development plans and weekly 1:1s to ensure execution excellence.

  • Negotiate commercial terms, minimum order quantities, lead times and cost structures with domestic and international vendors to secure competitive pricing while protecting product integrity and delivery.
  • Manage the product lifecycle in PLM/ERP: create and maintain tech packs, approval workflows, sample tracking, fit session outcomes and final bill of materials to ensure timely bulk production.
  • Lead vendor quality assurance and compliance efforts, including on-site audits, fabric/trim tests, pre-production checks and corrective action plans to minimize returns and customer complaints.
  • Oversee launch calendars and go-to-market execution: coordinate merchandising, visual, marketing and ecommerce teams to ensure product is ready for launch with correct imagery, descriptions, pricing and inventory.
  • Set and analyze key merchandising KPIs (sell-through, weeks of supply, GMROI, conversion by item, markdown %, AUR) and present actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
