- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and marketing teams to develop visual concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and material references that align with design intent and client goals.
- Manage and implement realistic materials and PBR textures (albedo, roughness, metalness, normal, displacement), ensuring scale, seamless tiling, and correct UVs to achieve believable surfaces in both offline and real-time renderers.
- Execute advanced lighting strategies (HDRI, physical sun/sky, area lights, emissive materials) and render passes (diffuse, specular, AO, Z-depth, lighting, SSS) to enhance realism and facilitate efficient compositing.
- Lead post-production compositing and color grading in Photoshop, After Effects, or Nuke to refine renders, integrate photographic backplates, add atmospheric effects (depth-of-field, bloom, volumetrics), and finalize imagery for print and web.
- Build and maintain an organized assets library (plants, furniture, entourage, vehicles, people) with metadata and naming conventions to accelerate project delivery and ensure consistent visual language across multiple projects.
- Optimize render settings, system resources, and render farm usage to meet deadlines without sacrificing image quality, including management of distributed rendering and troubleshooting render errors.
- Prepare visual content tailored for planning approvals, design competitions, investor packs, sales suites, and marketing campaigns, addressing scale, context, local vernacular, and regulatory constraints in imagery.
- Create interactive and immersive experiences (real-time Unreal Engine scenes, VR walkthroughs, WebGL viewers) to provide clients and stakeholders with exploratory design tools and sales experiences.
- Ensure strict version control of project files, maintain clear folder structures and naming schemes, and document visualization pipelines to support repeatability and cross-team collaboration.
- Communicate clearly with clients during review cycles, incorporate feedback efficiently, and present visual concepts and technical decisions in client-facing meetings and design reviews.
- Produce fast-turnaround concept sketches and quick render studies for iterative design development and early-stage decision-making while maintaining a path to final photoreal quality.
- Conduct quality assurance on deliverables—checking geometry, scale, lighting consistency, texture seams, and post-production artifacts—prior to client delivery or publishing.
- Mentor junior visualization artists, provide feedback on portfolios and technical workflows, establish best practices for asset creation, and help upskill the team in new tools and rendering techniques.
- Collaborate with BIM managers to align visualization outputs with up-to-date model data, resolve clashes, and ensure accurate representation of materials, finishes, and building systems.
- Maintain awareness of the latest visualization and rendering technologies, plugins, and industry trends (real-time ray tracing, ACEScg, denoising algorithms) and propose pipeline improvements or pilot projects accordingly.
- Prepare high-resolution imagery for a range of outputs (print, web, social, large-format signage) including export settings, compression strategies, and necessary legal rights for stock assets and photography.
- Manage multiple visualization projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet milestone deadlines, producing status reports, and escalating risks when dependencies threaten delivery.
(Additional Primary Responsibilities — ensure you list at least 20 when applying)
- Produce and integrate site context, topography, and sun studies into visuals and diagrams to support planning and environmental analysis submissions.
- Develop and automate reusable shaders, scripts, and scene templates to maintain brand consistency and reduce manual setup time across projects.
- Coordinate with photographers and post-production teams to match studio photography for mixed-media compositions and lifestyle imagery.
- Deliver technical drawings and render-ready model exports for VR and AR applications, ensuring scale and user navigation fidelity.
Secondary Functions
- Support sales and marketing by preparing pitch visuals, concept boards, and social media content that articulate design proposals and project value propositions.
- Respond to ad-hoc client requests for alternate views, material options, colorways, and furniture configurations with quick-turn visual options and annotated deliverables.
- Archive final deliverables and maintain a searchable gallery of past projects to assist in business development and internal knowledge sharing.
- Assist in creating technical documentation, naming conventions, and training materials to scale production across new hires and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in cross-disciplinary problem-solving sessions to identify operational bottlenecks in visualization production and propose scalable solutions.
- Liaise with external vendors and render farms for large-scale projects, negotiating delivery schedules and ensuring secure transfer of assets.
- Help define project budgets and resource estimates for visualization workstreams during pre-bid and scoping phases.
- Act as a subject matter expert in client workshops or industry events, providing demonstrations of new visualization technologies and methodologies.
- Support accessibility and usability reviews for immersive experiences (VR/AR), ensuring clear navigation, comfortable interactions, and appropriate user cues.
- Engage in continuous professional development and knowledge-sharing sessions to keep the internal team current on evolving visualization best practices and tools.
