Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and implement detailed daily, weekly and seasonal practice plans that align with the Head Coach’s strategic vision, ensuring practice structure maximizes skill acquisition, competitive readiness, and recovery protocols.

  • Track and analyze performance metrics (GPS outputs, workload, efficiency stats, skill success rates) and translate data-driven insights into practice modifications and individualized athlete interventions.
  • Coordinate onboarding, player eligibility tracking, and compliance reporting with the athletic department to ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, or state high school association rules and institutional policies.
  • Supervise and collaborate with athletic trainers, strength & conditioning staff, and sports medicine personnel to implement injury prevention programs, manage return-to-play protocols, and monitor athlete health and readiness.
  • Design and implement strength and conditioning programming in partnership with performance staff, including preseason conditioning, in-season maintenance, and position-specific power and agility training plans.
  • Mentor athletes off the field by monitoring academic progress, facilitating study halls or tutoring coordination, reinforcing team culture, and providing career and life-skills guidance.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations such as travel logistics, practice/gym scheduling, equipment procurement and maintenance, uniform inventory, and game-day checklists to ensure seamless team functioning.
  • Serve as a primary in-game communicator for assigned units, relay strategic adjustments, manage substitutions, and keep real-time analytics or situational data to assist Head Coach in decision-making.
  • Lead player evaluations and roster management activities including tryouts, preseason and postseason assessments, and maintaining up-to-date scouting reports and player profiles.
  • Facilitate and coach youth camps, clinics, and community outreach programs to grow the program brand, support recruiting pipelines, and cultivate local relationships with schools and clubs.
  • Implement and enforce team policies around discipline, attendance, academics, social media use, and conduct to foster a positive, accountable team environment and consistent program identity.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Advanced degrees (M.S., M.A., or graduate certificates) are a plus for collegiate positions.
