- Assist with building code review and accessibility requirements, ensuring interior layouts and specifications meet local regulations, fire and life-safety standards, and accessibility guidelines.
- Support sustainability initiatives by researching low-VOC materials, durable finishes, recycled content, and certifications (LEED, WELL) and incorporating sustainable alternatives into specifications.
- Work with manufacturers and vendors to obtain technical drawings, cut sheets, performance data, and warranties required for submittals and client records.
- Create and deliver compelling client presentations (digital and in-person) that synthesize design rationale, schedule, budget impacts, and next steps while responding to client feedback and revisions.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation including drawings, specifications, meeting minutes, change logs, and RFI responses; ensure all stakeholders have access to current files.
- Assist in proposals and business development efforts by preparing sample boards, project case studies, and portfolio updates that highlight studio capabilities and past performance.
- Monitor industry trends, product launches, and showroom inventory to inform design decisions, recommend innovative solutions, and keep the studio’s design language current.
- Support quality control by reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, mock-ups, and samples against the design intent and specifications, documenting approvals and discrepancies.
- Handle client communications for day-to-day project coordination, responding to inquiries, scheduling reviews, and escalating issues to senior design staff when necessary.
