Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct structured stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit, validate, and prioritize business requirements; produce clear Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications that align with strategic objectives.
  • Translate high-level business goals into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases for Agile teams; maintain and refine the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, Python, or R to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for optimization; deliver actionable insights and data-backed recommendations to business owners.
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to track KPIs, monitor performance, and enable self-service reporting for business stakeholders.
  • Map and document end-to-end business processes and workflows using process models (BPMN), flowcharts, or swimlane diagrams to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements.
  • Create wireframes, process flows, and mockups to support requirements discussions, user acceptance, and handoffs to UX/UI and engineering teams.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to define data requirements, data models, and ETL specifications that ensure accurate reporting and analytics pipelines.
  • Define, manage, and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) plans and test cases; coordinate UAT sessions, capture defects, and track remediation through to closure.
  • Monitor project and solution performance post-implementation by measuring KPIs, conducting impact analysis, and recommending iterative enhancements based on data.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment across business, product, design, QA, and engineering to ensure timely delivery and mitigate risks.
  • Develop clear and concise functional spec documents and configuration guides for system implementations, third-party integrations, and vendor solutions.
  • Conduct gap analysis to compare existing capabilities against business needs and recommend feasible technical and process solutions, including cost-benefit considerations.
  • Support scope definition and change management by documenting change requests, assessing impact on timelines and budget, and communicating trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Assist in prioritization of product and project features using data-driven criteria (ROI, customer impact, regulatory risk) and stakeholder input to maximize value delivery.
  • Create and maintain a repository of business rules, decision tables, and configuration settings to ensure consistent behavior across systems and reduce manual intervention.
  • Prepare and deliver clear executive summaries, project updates, and status reports that highlight risks, mitigations, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives by capturing requirements, assisting with evidence collection, and ensuring changes meet audit and control standards.
  • Collaborate with analytics and data science teams on A/B testing design, hypothesis definition, and interpretation of experiment results to support product optimization.
  • Drive small-to-medium sized projects end-to-end, including planning, requirement definition, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, testing, deployment and post-launch evaluation.
  • Assist training teams by creating user guides, job aids, and conducting knowledge-transfer sessions to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Confluence/SharePoint and track work and issues in JIRA, Azure DevOps, or other project management tools to ensure traceability of requirements and decisions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation, reporting modernization, and process re-engineering that improve operational efficiency and scale.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • SQL: ability to write complex queries, joins, aggregates, CTEs and optimize queries for reporting and analysis.
  • Excel: advanced functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, array formulas) and data modeling for ad-hoc analysis.
