Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Greet customers promptly and professionally in the showroom, qualify their needs through consultative questioning, and guide them through appropriate vehicle options based on lifestyle, budget, and preferences.

- Present and explain F&I products (extended warranties, GAP, protection plans, and insurance options) in collaboration with the F&I manager to secure profitable add-ons and protect customers.
- Accurately complete all sales documentation, title, registration, DMV forms, and manufacturer paperwork to ensure lawful and timely vehicle delivery.
- Work with finance partners and lenders to obtain financing approvals, prepare payment structures, and facilitate timely contract funding and delivery.
- Conduct trade-in appraisals using market research, vehicle history, mileage, condition, and reconditioning estimates, and present fair, transparent offers to customers.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge on new model features, option packages, pricing, incentives, and competitor offerings to educate customers and influence purchase decisions.
- Proactively follow up with prospects and past customers via phone, email, and SMS to nurture leads, schedule service, confirm satisfaction, and identify repeat or referral business.
- Manage and update customer records, lead statuses, and follow-up tasks in the CRM to ensure accurate forecasting and seamless handoffs between sales and BDC teams.
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while tracking personal performance metrics such as closing rate, gross per unit, and upsell penetration.
- Coordinate vehicle preparation and delivery with service and reconditioning teams to ensure vehicles are clean, inspected, and delivered on time with a complete walkthrough.
- Participate in sales promotions, special events, trade shows, and community outreach to drive showroom traffic and brand recognition.
- Upsell accessories, service plans, protection packages, and maintenance contracts based on customer needs and manufacturer recommendations.
- Respond to customer complaints and issues with urgency, escalating to management or service as needed, and follow through to resolution to protect the dealership’s reputation.
- Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on lead quality, messaging, and campaign performance and suggest improvements to drive qualified traffic.
- Track local market and competitor pricing, promotions, and inventory to position dealership inventory competitively and advise management on pricing strategy.
- Ensure all sales activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, manufacturer policies, and dealership compliance requirements including truth-in-lending and privacy practices.
- Train and mentor junior sales associates and participate in regular product and sales technique training to continually improve team performance.
- Maintain a professional showroom appearance, ensure vehicle merchandising standards, and rotate inventory to showcase priority models and promotions.
- Utilize digital retailing tools and online sales platforms to present payment calculators, trade-in estimates, and remote purchase options for customers who prefer digital solutions.
Secondary Functions
