Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Provide attentive, compassionate day-to-day care for children in the bank’s on-site nursery, including diapering, feeding, nap routines and individual comfort needs while maintaining dignity and privacy for children and parents.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate play and learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or equivalent curriculum frameworks to promote cognitive, physical, emotional and social development.

- Implement and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, recognising and reporting signs of abuse, neglect or developmental concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead.
- Administer medication and follow medical plans in accordance with nursery policy and parental consent, including accurate recording and handover to relevant personnel.
- Assist with mealtimes: prepare, serve and supervise nutritious meals and snacks in line with dietary requirements, allergies and corporate health standards.
- Maintain impeccable hygiene and infection control practices: clean and sterilise toys and equipment, manage nappy changing stations and follow illness exclusion guidance.
- Support behaviour management strategies by using positive guidance techniques, modelling pro-social behaviour and collaborating with colleagues to implement consistent approaches.
- Prepare indoor and outdoor environments each day: set up learning spaces, rotate resources, implement displays and create stimulating, accessible areas that reflect children’s interests.
- Collaborate with nursery management and external agencies (speech and language therapists, health visitors) to support children with SEND, ensuring reasonable adjustments and personalised support plans are in place.
- Complete daily handovers and centre logbooks, ensuring accurate communication between shifts, room leaders and the nursery manager about incidents, accidents and welfare matters.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for rooms, activities and outings; act immediately to mitigate hazards and record actions taken to maintain a safe environment.
- Facilitate smooth drop-off and collection routines, verifying identity, managing access controls and safeguarding the security requirements of the bank site at all times.
- Engage parents through scheduled meetings, written updates, and digital communication platforms; provide constructive feedback and contribute to settling-in plans for new children.
- Support staff training and professional development by participating in in-house workshops, team meetings and sharing best practices in early years pedagogy.
- Assist with routine administrative tasks such as registering new children, updating attendance records, maintaining medication and allergy logs, and supporting invoicing or booking systems where needed.
- Respond calmly and competently in emergency situations, following nursery and corporate emergency procedures, including fire drills and security alerts.
- Promote cultural awareness and inclusion by respecting family backgrounds, languages and customs and integrating multicultural resources into the curriculum.
- Support corporate events or parent workshops hosted by the bank, representing the nursery professionally and providing insight into early years care and child development for employee parents.
- Monitor and manage nursery stock: reorder consumables, check safety labels, maintain inventory and ensure all resources meet safety and quality standards.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
