Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Prepare and draft complete bankruptcy petitions, schedules (A/B, C, D, E/F), statements of financial affairs, and related exhibits for Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 cases, ensuring accuracy, proper formatting, and timely filing with the court.
  • Assemble and maintain creditor matrices and mailing lists, perform creditor due-diligence, and coordinate large-scale notice mailings and service of process in compliance with Bankruptcy Rule 2002 and local rules.
  • Electronically file documents using CM/ECF and PACER, monitor docket activity, and maintain accurate docketing calendars to track deadlines for meetings, objections, plan confirmation, 341 meetings, and automatic stay issues.
  • Prepare and file proofs of claim, claims objections, claims reconciliations, and supporting exhibits; coordinate with claims agents and clients to ensure claims are timely submitted and documented.
  • Draft, review, and organize motions and oppositions (e.g., relief from stay motions, adequate protection, assumption/rejection of leases and executory contracts), including supporting declarations and exhibits.
  • Support preparation, review and filing of disclosure statements and Chapter 11 plans of reorganization, including assembling exhibits, financial schedules, balloting materials, and claim reconciliation schedules.
  • Manage adversary proceeding administration: prepare complaints, answers, initial disclosures, document production, and case-specific dockets; assist attorneys with strategy, timelines, and litigation checklists.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation and files for creditor meetings, including Meeting of Creditors (341(a) hearings), witness lists, trustee correspondence, and pre-meeting briefs for attorneys.
  • Coordinate document production and e-discovery workflows for bankruptcy litigation and adversary proceedings, including privilege logs, Bates-stamping, review platforms (Relativity, Logikcull), and meet-and-confer processes.

  • Provide calendar management and litigation support for hearings, status conferences, mediation sessions, and plan-confirmation hearings, including travel logistics and hearing binders for attorneys.

  • Reconcile and maintain administrative schedules for assets and liabilities, including asset-tracking, lien searches, UCC filings, and coordination with asset-sale teams during Chapter 11 restructurings.
  • Train and supervise junior paralegals, legal assistants, and temporary staff on bankruptcy procedures, court rules, filing standards, and firm templates to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
  • Prepare closing binders, final reports, and case-closing checklists after plan confirmation or case dismissal; ensure retention and destruction policies for confidential client data are followed.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
