Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth skin and beauty consultations using structured intake and assessment techniques to identify client needs, skin type, concerns, sensitivities and product contraindications, then recommend a personalized routine that drives repeat purchases and satisfaction.
  • Perform professional makeup applications and demonstrations—ranging from day-to-day looks to bridal and special occasion makeup—while teaching clients application techniques and product layering to encourage confidence and product usage.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed daily and monthly individual sales targets through strategic product recommendations, cross-selling, and upselling complementary skincare, makeup and tools aligned to customer profiles and seasonal promotions.
  • Lead in-store product demonstrations, live sampling events, or mini-makeovers that increase foot traffic, convert browsers into buyers, and build the store’s reputation as an experiential beauty destination.
  • Maintain deep, up-to-date brand and product knowledge including ingredients, textures, shade ranges, contraindications, clinical claims and competitive differentiators to effectively address technical customer questions and support clinical skincare sales.
  • Use point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions, apply discounts, manage refunds/exchanges, and accurately record purchases for client profiles and loyalty program enrollment.
  • Build and maintain an organized client book or CRM records including purchase history, skin assessments, allergies, favorite shades and follow-up reminders to drive long-term relationships, targeted outreach and rebookings.
  • Coach and influence customers through empathetic consultative selling—listening actively, asking discovery questions, and presenting options that fit the client’s budget and lifestyle—while preserving trust in the brand.
  • Create and execute floor merchandising and end-cap displays to brand standards, ensuring product presentation, signage, sample availability and testers are appealing, replenished and compliant with visual merchandising directives.
  • Monitor stock levels, complete receiving and restocking tasks, report low inventory or replenishment needs, and coordinate with store leadership or brand reps to prevent out-of-stocks and lost sales.
  • Apply sanitation, hygiene and testing protocols for all testers, brushes and applicators, including single-use applicators where required; comply with public health and brand safety standards for live demos and service areas.
  • Train and mentor new hires and seasonal staff on product knowledge, customer service standards, makeup application basics, and sales workflows to maintain consistent team performance and customer experiences.
  • Participate in store and brand promotional planning—supporting launch events, influencer visits and seasonal campaigns—by providing input on inventory, demo schedules and high-potential SKUs.
  • Capture customer feedback and market intelligence—including product performance, shade gaps, and competitor activity—and escalate insights to store leadership or brand managers to influence assortment, training and marketing.
  • Execute planogram and promotional resets on schedule, ensuring new launches receive priority placement, testers are set up correctly and promotional signage is visible and accurate.
  • Manage appointment schedules and walk-in bookings using in-store or third-party booking platforms, ensure punctuality and readiness for each client and optimize day-to-day salon or counter flow.
  • Resolve customer complaints and product issues calmly and professionally, escalating to supervisors when necessary while documenting outcomes and ensuring customer retention and brand reputation management.
  • Support wartime loss prevention and shrinkage control by monitoring testers, high-value SKUs and suspicious activity, following store security processes and participating in inventory audits.
  • Produce high-quality visual and written content for in-store digital displays, social media or email campaigns when required; align messaging with brand voice and promotional objectives to drive awareness and bookings.
  • Coordinate with backstage or partner services (e.g., brow bar, esthetician, hair salon) to deliver integrated beauty solutions and cross-promote services that enhance customer experience and increase overall spend.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment and demo areas—sanitizing surfaces, replenishing disposables, sterilizing tools and ensuring the environment meets brand hygiene standards before, during and after client interactions.
  • Record daily sales activity, client rebookings and KPI progress (conversion rate, average transaction value, units per transaction) and participate in regular sales reviews and coaching conversations to improve performance.
  • Participate in ongoing product trainings, brand webinars, certifications and vendor-led educational sessions to maintain a high level of technical competence and to communicate new benefits to customers.
  • Assist with special projects such as sampling programs, influencer gifting, market research initiatives, or pop-up activations to expand the brand footprint and generate new customer acquisition.

Secondary Functions

  • Support store inventory audits, cycle counts and stock reconciliation to maintain accurate inventory records and reduce shrinkage.
  • Contribute to local marketing efforts by suggesting in-store events, promotions and community partnerships that resonate with the target customer profile.
  • Maintain and report on KPI dashboards (conversion, AOV, repeat rate) and supply actionable recommendations to improve counter performance.
  • Help develop and refine appointment-booking workflows to reduce wait times and improve client throughput and satisfaction.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
