Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Deal blackjack hands professionally and consistently, following house procedures for card distribution, hit/stand options, splits, doubles, insurance, and payouts while maintaining a brisk and engaging pace for guests.
  • Accurately collect and pay bets using chips and cash, calculate payouts on wins (including blackjacks and insurance), and verify correct chip denominations to maintain table integrity.
  • Enforce the casino's rules of play and table limits, explain game rules, bet options and payouts to new or inexperienced players, and ensure all guests understand house policies.
  • Monitor player behavior, bet patterns and chip movement to detect potential cheating, collusion or advantage play, and immediately report suspicious activity to the pit supervisor or security.
  • Operate and maintain continuous shufflers, shoe, discard trays and other blackjack equipment according to casino standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform pre-shift table set-up and post-shift close-out procedures, including chip counts, drop paperwork, table inventory reconciliation and completion of accurate shift reports.
  • Validate identification and age verification for players, refuse service to minors, and enforce responsible gaming policies including self-exclusion lists and voluntary limits.
  • Provide high-quality, guest-focused service by greeting players, explaining promotions or comps, answering questions, and creating a friendly, respectful table atmosphere to maximize player retention and satisfaction.
  • Handle customer disputes, rule clarifications and payout disagreements calmly and professionally, escalating to supervisors when necessary while documenting incidents thoroughly.
  • Maintain strict adherence to cash-handling procedures, anti-money laundering (AML) protocols and gaming commission regulations to support the casino’s compliance program.
  • Upsell casino services, loyalty programs, and amenities when appropriate to increase revenue and improve guest experience, while maintaining impartiality during game play.
  • Accurately record actionable information for floor staff and management (e.g., big wins, irregulars, prolific players) to support revenue tracking and VIP services.
  • Follow opening and closing checklists for assigned tables, including chip condition inspections, shoe/slot set-up, and reporting any equipment faults or discrepancies.
  • Train and mentor new dealers by demonstrating correct dealing techniques, table procedures, and customer service expectations while providing constructive feedback.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist floor staff with player seating, VIP accommodations and smooth transition of players between tables.

  • Help coordinate dealer rotation and shift coverage in collaboration with the pit boss to minimize downtime and maintain game availability.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
