Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Consult with product management and engineering teams to understand new Blue Planet features and releases, then translate those into clear learning objectives and aligned content deliverables.
  2. Create detailed storyboards, scripts and story‑flows for e‑learning modules, video tutorials, simulations and interactive labs that support the Blue Planet portfolio.
  3. Develop high‑quality training assets including instructor‑led slides, self‑paced e‑learning, video walkthroughs, interactive simulations, and lab exercises based on adult learning principles.
  4. Author content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, and other modern authoring suites, ensuring alignment with Blue Planet standards and branding.
  5. Upload, configure and maintain training content within a Learning Management System (LMS), including SCORM/xAPI packages, user tracking, and performance analytics.
  6. Collaborate with SMEs to validate technical accuracy of content and keep learning resources up‑to‑date with Blue Planet technology changes, network automation updates and field feedback.
  7. Conduct quality reviews of existing content, identify lagging modules, streamline refresh cycles and retire outdated materials as necessary.
  8. Participate in the planning and execution of global roll‑out training programmes including localisation, translating content, and adapting material for international audiences.
  9. Use instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM or equivalent to structure courses, design assessments, and ensure learning impact and retention.
  10. Monitor learner performance, gather and analyse feedback, assess training effectiveness via metrics (completion rates, assessment scores, user satisfaction) and adjust content accordingly.
  11. Manage multiple concurrent projects—course builds, updates, multimedia assets—with tight deadlines and changing priorities across the Blue Planet portfolio.
  12. Design and implement hands‑on labs or virtual sandbox environments enabling engineers and partners to experiment with Blue Planet orchestration, assurance or inventory tools in realistic scenarios.
  13. Work with multimedia production teams (video editors, voice‑over artists, graphic designers) to produce engaging and professional learning media aligned with brand guidelines.
  14. Maintain and manage a content library and repository of learning assets, versions, templates and re‑usable modules to ensure efficient re‑use and consistent quality.
  15. Align training road‑maps with product launch calendars, partner enablement strategies and internal onboarding programmes to maximise adoption and time‑to‑competency.
  16. Create job aids, cheat‑sheets, quick reference guides and performance support materials to supplement longer‑form learning content and support engineers in deployment and operations of Blue Planet solutions.
  17. Maintain awareness of industry trends, e‑learning best practices, network automation domain developments and incorporate emerging technologies (e‑learning VR/AR, micro‑learning, mobile‑first) where relevant.
  18. Ensure accessibility, usability and inclusive design principles are incorporated into all learning content, in line with Blue Planet’s commitment to global audiences and diverse learners.
  19. Partner with marketing, enablement and partner ecosystem teams to promote training programmes, enable end‑user adoption and track enablement KPIs across channels.
  20. Provide post‑launch support for training materials including updates post‑product release, version control, and retire legacy modules, ensuring alignment with Blue Planet’s evolving network automation portfolio.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad‑hoc data requests and exploratory analysis of learning metrics, training usage patterns and enablement gaps to inform future content strategy.
  • Contribute to the learning team’s strategic roadmap by recommending new content formats, automating content refreshes, and optimising production workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product management, engineering, support, partner enablement) to translate business needs into training solution requirements and specification.
  • Participate in training design governance forums, content prioritisation sessions and knowledge‑transfer workshops to share best practices and support global enablement.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Proficiency authoring e‑learning content using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia or equivalent tools.
  • Experience managing content within a Learning Management System (LMS), including SCORM/xAPI packaging, learner tracking and analytics.
  • Strong storyboard creation, script writing, graphics and multimedia production skills to convert complex technical content into engaging learning experiences.
  • Ability to interpret technical product specifications (Blue Planet network automation software, orchestration, assurance, inventory) and distil into structured learning modules.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Technical Communication, Computer Science or related field.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree plus certification(s) in instructional design, eLearning development, or a Master’s in Learning Science, Technical Education or related discipline.
