Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, maintain and socialize the enterprise business capability model and taxonomy; ensure capabilities are mapped to strategy, value streams, processes, organizational units and technology components to enable strategic decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional capability mapping workshops and stakeholder interviews to validate as-is and target-state capability definitions, dependencies, and maturity levels across domains.
- Translate corporate strategy and business goals into measurable architecture blueprints, roadmaps and prioritized capability investment plans that align with product and technology portfolios.
- Produce end-to-end value stream and business process models (BPMN or equivalent) that identify bottlenecks, handoffs, and opportunities for automation, consolidation or reengineering.
- Define target-state business architectures and decomposed requirements to guide solution design, vendor selection, and implementation planning with product and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to ensure business architecture artifacts are integrated with technical architecture, data architecture and security architectures (e.g., alignment with TOGAF, ArchiMate standards).
- Lead business case development and cost-benefit analyses for major capability investments; quantify expected ROI, KPIs and benefits realization plans.
- Partner with Product Owners, PMOs and portfolio managers to prioritize capability releases, define minimal viable capability (MVC) increments, and sequence work for agile delivery.
- Establish and govern business architecture standards, templates, patterns and best practices to accelerate consistent solutioning across programs and business units.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and governance forums, facilitate decisions on target scope, solution trade-offs, and business rules, and maintain a clear RACI for architecture deliverables.
- Conduct impact assessments and dependency analyses for proposed changes, mergers, acquisitions, or new product introductions to anticipate integration complexity and operational risk.
- Capture, refine and prioritize business and functional requirements through workshops, user story mapping and acceptance criteria aligned to capability roadmaps.
- Define metrics and KPIs to measure capability performance, track transformation progress, and report value realization to senior leadership.
- Guide process improvement and operational excellence initiatives by recommending process redesign, automation opportunities, and organizational capability shifts.
- Create and maintain solution option studies, target operating models and migration plans that define interim states, timelines, and required organizational change management activities.
- Advise on data governance needs impacting business capabilities; collaborate with data architects to ensure master data, reference data and analytics are embedded into capability design.
- Coordinate with security, compliance and legal teams to ensure business capabilities and processes meet regulatory, privacy and audit requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior business architects, analysts and cross-functional teams on business architecture practices and tools to grow internal capability.
- Participate in vendor assessments, solution sizing and RFPs from a business architecture perspective, ensuring vendor solutions meet defined capability requirements and integration needs.
- Support agile delivery teams during implementation to ensure solutions adhere to the target-state business architecture and do not introduce technical debt or architectural fragmentation.
- Maintain an up-to-date repository of business architecture artifacts (capability maps, process models, business rules, use cases) using tools such as Archi, Sparx EA, LeanIX, Mega or similar.
- Identify and communicate strategic and operational risks associated with architecture decisions; recommend mitigation approaches and contingency plans.
- Drive continuous improvement by collecting feedback from operations, product and customers to iterate on capability designs and enhance responsiveness to market changes.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
