- Implement governance frameworks for automation and process changes, including intake prioritization, lifecycle management, security reviews, and compliance verification.
- Provide hands-on configuration and light development for integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML transforms), middleware (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi), and scripting (Python, JavaScript) required for automation solutions.
- Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability assessments for process automation platforms to ensure SLAs are met under production loads.
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment and change management activities: prepare impact analyses, create training plans, deliver end-user training and workshops, and produce communication collateral to drive adoption.
- Partner with procurement and vendor management to evaluate third-party automation vendors, manage POCs, negotiate licensing models, and coordinate vendor-led implementations where appropriate.
- Execute cost-benefit and value-case analyses for automation initiatives, presenting business cases to leadership with quantified savings, risk reduction, and incremental benefits.
- Mentor and upskill internal teams and junior consultants on process modeling, automation best practices, governance, and tool-specific development standards.
- Monitor and remediate production incidents tied to automated processes, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and update operational runbooks.
- Ensure solutions comply with internal security standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR) by collaborating with security and risk teams on data handling, encryption, and access controls.
- Stay current with process automation trends (AI/ML augmentation, intelligent document processing, low-code evolution) and pilot new capabilities to continuously enhance the organization's automation maturity.
- Coordinate multi-stream projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies, maintain product backlogs, define sprint goals, and translate business priorities into incremental deliverables.
- Standardize reusable process components and accelerators (templates, connectors, bots) to reduce time-to-value for successive automation projects.
- Drive continuous improvement cycles through Kaizen events, Lean Six Sigma techniques, and periodic process health reviews to sustain long-term efficiency gains.
- Design and implement hybrid human-automation workflows that address exception routing, escalations, and policy-driven decisioning to preserve business continuity and quality.
- Collaborate with finance and operations to align process automation initiatives with budgeting, cost tracking, and operational KPI reporting.
- Support enterprise-level digital transformation programs by aligning process automation roadmaps with cloud migration, ERP upgrades, and organizational change plans.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
