- Analyze operational performance metrics, transaction volumes, cycle times, cost drivers, and defect rates to quantify process inefficiencies and prioritize opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Design future-state processes and target operating models that reduce waste, minimize handoffs, improve customer experience, and support scalable growth while aligning to corporate strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional process design workshops to co-create solutions with business owners, IT, compliance, finance, and external vendors, ensuring buy-in and feasibility across stakeholders.
- Develop detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories for process changes and automation initiatives (RPA, low-code platforms, workflow engines), and maintain traceability from requirements to delivery.
- Configure and validate process automation solutions in coordination with IT and development teams, including RPA bots, workflow rules, and ERP (SAP, Oracle) process changes, ensuring alignment with process logic and controls.
- Establish and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and dashboards to measure process effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance; provide regular performance reporting to leadership.
- Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto) and pilot corrections, designing countermeasures to eliminate recurring issues and reduce process defects or rework rates.
- Create and maintain process governance artifacts including process ownership matrices, RACI charts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process maturity assessments to institutionalize improvements.
- Manage end-to-end project activities for process improvement initiatives β define scope, create project plans, manage timelines, risks, budgets, and coordinate cross-team dependencies until benefits are realized.
- Deliver stakeholder communications and executive briefings that translate technical process changes into business impact, cost-benefit analysis, and implementation roadmaps to secure sponsorship and resources.
- Lead change management activities: stakeholder mapping, communication plans, training programs, and adoption monitoring to ensure new processes are adopted, sustained, and continuously improved.
- Perform cost-benefit and ROI analysis for proposed process changes, including total cost of ownership for automation solutions, to support prioritization and investment decisions.
- Facilitate pilot tests and phased rollouts of redesigned processes, capture lessons learned, and iterate solutions based on operational feedback and performance data.
- Maintain process and requirements documentation in centralized repositories and knowledge bases to support operational continuity, audits, and future continuous improvement cycles.
- Integrate regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements into redesigned processes to ensure auditability, data privacy, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with data analytics teams to define data needs, validate data sources, and design analytics-driven process controls and predictive indicators.
- Mentor and train junior consultants, analysts, and process owners on process mapping techniques, process improvement tools, and governance best practices.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendor management for third-party process or systems implementations, including creating vendor requirements and participating in vendor evaluation.
- Benchmark internal processes against industry best practices and emerging trends (RPA, AI-driven workflows, low-code automation) to recommend modern, scalable process solutions.
- Design and implement continuous improvement programs (Kaizen events, process sprints) to drive ongoing efficiency and promote a culture of operational excellence.
- Ensure data integrity and process traceability across systems, identifying reconciliation points and designing exception handling workflows to minimize operational risk.
- Support post-implementation benefits realization, tracking actual versus projected savings, throughput gains, and quality improvements, and adjusting governance to sustain outcomes.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on process optimization in strategic initiatives such as M&A integrations, digital transformation programs, or regulatory change projects.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
