Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Lead the development and communication of a clear, differentiated multi-year product strategy and roadmap that aligns with company vision, market opportunities, and financial targets; synthesize market research, customer insights and internal data to prioritize initiatives and investments.
- Own end-to-end product lifecycle management, from discovery and validation through development, launch, and optimization; establish repeatable processes for discovery, experimentation, and feature deprecation.
- Define and measure the product organization’s success with clear OKRs, KPIs and business metrics (e.g., ARR, MAU, NPS, activation, retention, LTV/CAC) and drive accountability through data-informed decision making.
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing product leadership team (senior PMs, product design leads, product ops) including hiring, coaching, career planning and organizational design to support rapid growth and cross-functional delivery.
- Partner with Engineering and Design leaders to define delivery cadence, resource allocation, and quality standards; remove impediments, arbitrate trade-offs and ensure predictable, high-quality software delivery using agile best practices.
- Lead customer and market discovery activities personally and through embedded teams—conduct interviews, ethnographic research, and competitive analysis to validate opportunities and de-risk strategic bets.
- Translate business strategy into prioritized product initiatives and detailed requirements; create clear product briefs, PRDs and outcome-focused acceptance criteria that enable cross-functional teams to execute.
- Drive go-to-market strategy and execution in partnership with Marketing, Sales and Customer Success; define launch plans, pricing strategies, packaging, positioning and enablement to maximize adoption and revenue.
- Take ownership of product P&L or key financial metrics where assigned; develop business cases, ROI models and investment prioritization frameworks to justify resource allocation.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning; design and oversee A/B testing programs, funnel optimization and data-driven growth initiatives that materially improve user engagement and monetization.
- Champion product accessibility, security and compliance requirements across the lifecycle; partner with legal, security and privacy teams to manage risk and regulatory obligations.
- Represent the product organization to the executive team and board; present product roadmaps, progress updates, key metrics and strategic recommendations to gain alignment and funding.
- Serve as a key customer and partner-facing executive: present at customer advisory boards, industry conferences and executive sales meetings to evangelize product vision and secure strategic deals.
- Implement and mature product processes, tooling and governance (roadmapping, prioritization frameworks, product ops) to scale decision-making and reduce friction across distributed teams.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and escalate effectively when priorities conflict; use strong stakeholder management to reconcile trade-offs between short-term revenue needs and long-term strategic investments.
