Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Draft, edit, and distribute persuasive advocacy materials — talking points, testimony, fact sheets, op-eds, campaign emails, social media content, and newsletters — tailored to different audiences and channels.
  • Create and implement volunteer recruitment, training, and activation plans to grow grassroots capacity, including training curricula, role descriptions, and leadership development pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain constituent and stakeholder databases (e.g., Salesforce, NationBuilder, Action Network), managing data hygiene, segmentation, outreach lists, and automated communications.
  • Coordinate hearings, town halls, lobby days, and community forums — managing logistics, agendas, speaker coaching, outreach, accessibility accommodations, and post-event evaluation.
  • Lead digital advocacy activities including paid and organic social campaigns, email advocacy blasts, targeted SMS/phone outreach, and landing page creation to drive petitions, RSVPs, and constituent actions.
  • Prepare testimony, briefings, and presentation materials for meetings with elected officials, agency staff, and advisory committees; coach community leaders to testify effectively.
  • Track campaign metrics and perform outcome analysis (engagement rates, petition signatures, meeting outcomes, policy wins), generate regular reports and translate findings into strategy adjustments.
