Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Create original, high-quality digital illustrations for marketing campaigns, product pages, social media, packaging, editorial pieces, and pitch materials that align with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.

  • Create scalable vector art for icons, logos, and illustrations that maintain fidelity across multiple device sizes and responsive layouts, ensuring pixel-perfection where necessary.
  • Prepare layered and separated asset sheets and sprite atlases for engineering and animation teams, optimizing file sizes and asset naming for seamless integration into pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, product managers, brand teams, and copywriters to integrate visual concepts into broader campaigns and product initiatives while incorporating feedback rapidly and constructively.
  • Iterate on illustrations based on user research, A/B test results, accessibility considerations, and stakeholder input to improve conversion, engagement, and readability metrics.
  • Establish and maintain style guides, component libraries, and illustration systems that ensure visual consistency across products and marketing materials.
  • Deliver storyboards and visual sequences for short animations, explainer videos, and motion design projects, collaborating with motion designers and animators to translate static art into motion-ready assets.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of work by estimating effort, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines while balancing multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity.
  • Research visual trends, cultural references, and competitor artwork to propose fresh, on-brand creative directions and to keep the company’s visual language contemporary and relevant.
  • Mentor junior illustrators and freelance artists, providing technical guidance, feedback on technique, and best practices for file preparation and collaboration in remote or hybrid environments.

  • Create mood boards, visual references, and annotated concept art to communicate artistic intent and production requirements to cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure all artwork complies with legal and licensing requirements by maintaining organized asset libraries and documenting usage rights for stock elements or third-party resources.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to file compatibility, color management, and output quality in collaboration with production and QA teams.
  • Contribute artwork for merchandising, pitch decks, investor materials, and external presentations that represent the brand professionally and persuasively.
  • Support localization efforts by creating adaptable illustrations and assets that accommodate different languages, cultures, and regional design requirements.
  • Track and report on metrics such as throughput, revision cycles, and time-to-delivery to help optimize workflows and resource allocation across illustration projects.
