Primary Functions

  • Develop and own the enterprise PR and reputation strategy, translating corporate objectives into measurable communications goals, integrated campaigns, and annual plans that drive media coverage, thought leadership, and stakeholder trust.
  • Lead media relations and press outreach: craft compelling pitches, cultivate relationships with national and trade press, secure high-value placements and broadcast opportunities, and position executives as credible spokespeople.
  • Direct crisis and issues management: design crisis playbooks, serve as crisis communications lead during incidents, coordinate rapid response across legal, HR, executive leadership, and external advisors, and manage messaging cadence to minimize reputational risk.
  • Provide strategic counsel and communications coaching to C-suite and senior leaders, including message development, interview prep, debate/mock interview simulations, and real-time media support.
  • Oversee executive communications: ghostwrite speeches, op-eds, LinkedIn thought leadership posts, and high-impact talking points that reflect corporate strategy and CEO voice.
  • Build and manage a high-performing PR team: hire, mentor, set performance objectives, conduct professional development, and foster cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, investor relations, and legal.

  • Manage external agency and vendor relationships (PR agencies, media monitoring, creative partners): set scope of work, oversee deliverables, manage budgets, and evaluate performance against KPIs.
  • Establish and report on PR measurement frameworks and dashboards (share of voice, impressions, sentiment, message pull-through, media quality, website traffic uplifts, and earned media ROI) and use insights to refine strategy.
  • Lead reputation research and listening programs using media monitoring, social listening, and stakeholder surveys to identify risks, trends, and opportunity areas for proactive communications.
  • Own messaging architecture and brand narratives across corporate, product, and crisis topics; ensure consistent messaging across channels and geographies, including localized adaptations for key markets.
  • Coordinate proactive influencer and analyst outreach programs that support product adoption, partner co-marketing, and executive visibility.
  • Plan and execute media events, press conferences, product briefings, and analyst days, including logistics, media lists, briefing materials, and follow-up coverage strategies.
  • Serve as the cross-functional liaison for regulatory and compliance communications, ensuring PR outputs align with legal requirements, financial disclosure rules, and industry regulations.
  • Oversee content development for press releases, media advisories, Q&As, backgrounders, FAQs, executive bios, media kits and crisis statements that are accurate, timely and on-brand.

  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion in communications strategy and media outreach; proactively expand media relationships with diverse and niche outlets to reach varied audiences.
  • Manage PR budgets and resource allocation, prioritize spend (media buying, agencies, tools), and optimize investment for maximum earned media impact.
  • Monitor competitor PR and industry news to identify opportunities for reactive positioning and proactive thought leadership that differentiates the organization.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
