Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Own end-to-end retail P&L for assigned geography or business unit, setting sales, margin and expense targets and delivering against quarterly and annual financial objectives through disciplined budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Design and execute a multi-year retail growth strategy that balances new store openings, remodels, market share expansion, and omnichannel integration to drive profitable revenue and customer lifetime value.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional leadership team (area managers, store directors, merchandising leads) through recruitment, coaching, performance management, succession planning and leadership development programs.
  • Drive sales performance by setting clear KPIs (sales per square foot, conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction) and implementing structured cadence reviews, incentive plans and corrective action where needed.
  • Own store operations standards and processes, ensuring consistent execution of service models, operational checklists, loss-prevention best practices and regulatory compliance across all locations.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Planning to create customer-relevant assortments, pricing strategies, promotions and inventory flow that maximize sell-through and minimize markdown exposure.
  • Optimize inventory health at store and regional levels through demand forecasting, replenishment rules, stock-to-sales analysis and defined shrink reduction programs to improve inventory turns and working capital.
  • Lead omnichannel retail integration initiatives (buy online pickup in store, ship-from-store, returns handling, unified POS) and collaborate with eCommerce, IT and supply chain to deliver a seamless customer journey.
  • Own store labor models and scheduling strategies to balance service levels with payroll efficiency, including deployment of workforce management tools and continuous improvement of labor productivity.
  • Manage capital planning for store fleet (openings, remodels, closures) including site selection input, lease negotiation support, project timelines, contractor coordination and budget oversight to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Drive local and regional marketing activations in partnership with Marketing and CRM teams to increase traffic, customer acquisition and loyalty engagement through targeted campaigns, events and community programs.
  • Implement rigorous competitive and market analysis to identify threats and opportunities, adjust pricing, promotions and assortment, and recommend store-level actions to capture market share.
  • Set and monitor operational and guest experience standards (visual merchandising, store cleanliness, customer service training), including development and rollout of playbooks, audits and scorecards to ensure consistent brand presentation.
  • Lead vendor and supplier relationship management for store fixtures, visual merchandising, point-of-sale hardware and third-party services; negotiate terms, SLAs and cost-effective solutions.
  • Champion loss prevention and safety programs, including audit controls, incident reporting, investigations and remediation plans to reduce shrink and protect people and assets.
  • Establish and report on a robust retail analytics framework, leveraging sales, customer, and operational data to inform strategic decisions, store-level coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives within the retail footprint, including energy efficiency, responsible sourcing, and waste reduction programs aligned to company ESG goals.
  • Oversee major operational change programs—POS rollouts, CRM migrations, loyalty relaunches—acting as the business sponsor to ensure adoption, training, and realization of anticipated benefits.
  • Serve as the primary executive partner to real estate, supply chain, finance and HR to align store operations with company-wide objectives, financial controls and workforce strategies.
  • Create and present compelling executive-level reporting and business reviews to senior leadership and the board, translating operational detail into strategic insight and clear action plans.
  • Lead store openings, conversions and closures: develop playbooks, staffing plans, merchandising resets, regional launch support, and first 90-day plans to stabilize new locations and maximize early ROI.
  • Maintain compliance with legal, labor and health & safety regulations in all operations, ensuring audit readiness and timely remediation of any identified gaps.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture that collects and acts on customer feedback, measures Net Promoter Score (NPS) and implements service recovery practices to build loyalty and repeat business.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
