Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate industrial equipment safely and efficiently, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, and electric pallet stackers, ensuring all pre- and post-shift equipment checks are completed and defects are reported following maintenance protocols.
- Receive inbound shipments: unload trailers, verify shipment manifests, inspect for damage, verify quantities against packing lists and ERP/WMS records (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and input receiving transactions using RF scanners or handheld terminals.
- Pick and pack outbound orders accurately using pick-by-voice, pick-to-light, or RF scanning technology, ensuring order accuracy, correct labeling, proper packaging, and adherence to carrier-specific manifesting requirements.
- Stage, consolidate, and load outbound shipments according to load sequencing plans, optimizing cube utilization and complying with carrier weight and load securement regulations for LTL, TL, and parcel carriers.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate and reconcile inventory variances, document root causes, and execute corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and shrink reduction.
- Maintain accurate production and shipping documentation, create bills of lading and packing slips, and update transportation management systems (TMS) and WMS with tracking and exception details.
- Follow and enforce company safety programs, personal protective equipment (PPE) policies, lockout/tagout, and OSHA/DOT regulations; report near-misses and incidents promptly and participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Implement first-in-first-out (FIFO) or first-expired-first-out (FEFO) procedures for inventory rotation in cold chain, pharmaceutical, or perishable environments to maintain product integrity and compliance.
- Load and unload conveyance systems, sort and route packages, perform breakbulk duties, and operate automated equipment interfaces while monitoring for jams and safety interlocks.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse housekeeping standards; ensure aisles, pick faces, and staging areas are clean, labeled, and free of hazards to support a 5S/lean operations environment.
- Execute returns processing and reverse logistics tasks: inspect returns, disposition product (restock, repair, scrap), and update inventory and QC systems with return outcomes.
- Use hand tools and packaging equipment to build pallets and crates, shrink-wrap and band freight, apply shipping labels and barcodes, and prepare hazardous materials shipments in accordance with IATA/IMDG/DOT rules when applicable.
- Respond to exceptions and expedite orders by coordinating with transportation, customer service, and production teams to meet critical customer SLA and delivery windows.
- Maintain temperature-controlled storage requirements by monitoring and logging environmental set points, performing spot checks, and escalating deviations to maintenance or quality teams.
- Train and mentor new hires and temporary staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safe equipment operation, order picking techniques, and company quality requirements to sustain performance and throughput.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on material handling equipment, conveyors, and scanners; coordinate with maintenance and facilities to schedule repairs, preventive maintenance, and spare parts replenishment.
- Execute quality control inspections: verify SKU integrity, check expiry/lot numbers, perform visual quality checks and quarantine non-conforming product per quality SOPs.
- Complete daily productivity and quality KPIs, including picks per hour, perfect order rate, on-time shipments, and inventory accuracy; report progress to supervisors and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with planners and inventory control to identify slow-moving and obsolete stock; assist in cycle-count planning and implementing stock rebalancing or markdown operations.
- Adhere to hazardous materials and dangerous goods handling protocols where applicable, including DG documentation, proper packaging, labeling, and segregation of incompatible materials.
- Support cross-dock and flow-through operations by coordinating inbound-outbound matching, staging, and rapid turnaround of freight to reduce touchpoints and transit time.
- Maintain accurate records for audits, compliance inspections, and customer inquiries; provide documentation supporting traceability for regulated products when required.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in data entry and basic reporting into WMS/ERP systems to support inventory visibility and daily operational metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement Kaizen events and suggest process optimizations that reduce cost per pick and increase throughput.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Certified forklift and powered industrial truck operation (sit-down, reach truck, order picker) with demonstrated safe operation history.
- Proficient using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) such as SAP, Manhattan, Oracle, JDE, or NetSuite.

Minimum Education:
