Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design and develop innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound e-learning courses, micro-learnings, videos, and performance support tools using a variety of authoring tools.
  • Collaborate extensively with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to conduct needs analysis, define learning objectives, and gather accurate source content for development.
  • Create detailed storyboards, scripts, and prototypes that outline the course structure, content flow, visual design, and interactive elements for stakeholder review and approval.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, methodologies, and adult learning principles (such as ADDIE, SAM, and Bloom's Taxonomy) to create effective learning experiences.
  • Develop compelling multimedia assets, including custom graphics, animations, audio narrations, and interactive videos, using tools like the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
  • Build interactive and scenario-based assessments, quizzes, and knowledge checks to measure learning transfer and evaluate the effectiveness of training interventions.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of e-learning projects, from initial scoping and planning through development, review, testing, and deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading and testing courses, managing user enrollments, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Ensure all learning content is compliant with industry standards such as SCORM and xAPI, and meets accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Continuously review, update, and enhance the existing library of e-learning courses to ensure content remains current, accurate, and effective.
  • Pilot and test learning solutions with target audiences to gather feedback for iterative improvement before full-scale launch.
  • Develop comprehensive supporting materials, such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and job aids, to support blended learning initiatives.
  • Utilize visual design principles to create aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the learner experience and align with corporate brand guidelines.
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging instructional text, narration scripts, and on-screen content tailored to the target audience and learning objectives.
  • Convert existing instructor-led training (ILT) materials, such as PowerPoint decks and manuals, into effective and engaging e-learning or blended learning formats.

Secondary Functions

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in the e-learning and instructional technology fields to drive innovation within the learning and development team.
  • Analyze learning data and feedback to generate reports on course completion rates, learner performance, and overall program impact, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, freelancers, and content providers to augment internal development capabilities when necessary.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to learners and facilitators regarding e-learning course access, functionality, and best practices.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning by actively seeking feedback, participating in professional development, and sharing knowledge with the broader team.
  • Lead train-the-trainer sessions for virtual instructor-led training (vILT) programs and create resources to empower facilitators.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • E-learning Authoring Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) and/or Adobe Captivate.
  • Multimedia Production: Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) for creating custom graphics, videos, and animations.
  • LMS Administration: Experience with uploading, testing, and managing content in a Learning Management System (e.g., Cornerstone, Docebo, Moodle, LearnUpon).
  • Instructional Design Models: Deep understanding and practical application of ADDIE, SAM, Gagne's Nine Events, and other learning theories.
  • Technical Standards: Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can), and AICC standards for course packaging and tracking.
  • Video & Audio Editing: Proficiency in editing and producing high-quality video and audio for learning modules.
  • Productivity Suites: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word) and/or Google Workspace.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
