Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Deliver engaging, interactive, and effective synchronous (live) virtual training sessions using platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, and Webex.
  • Facilitate asynchronous learning activities, guiding discussions, and providing timely feedback on forums and assignments within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manage all aspects of the virtual classroom environment, including setting up sessions, managing breakout rooms, launching polls, and monitoring chat to drive learner participation.
  • Act as the primary technical support contact for learners before and during live sessions, troubleshooting issues related to audio, video, and platform access.
  • Adapt and repurpose existing instructor-led training (ILT) materials for effective delivery in a virtual or blended learning format.
  • Monitor learner progress, engagement, and performance, providing regular reports and insights to L&D leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to review content, practice delivery, and ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Administer and manage course enrollments, completions, assessments, and certifications within the company's LMS (e.g., Cornerstone, Moodle, Docebo).
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative online learning community where learners feel comfortable participating and sharing.
  • Conduct pre-session "tech checks" and orientation sessions to ensure participants are prepared and comfortable with the virtual learning technology.
  • Coach and provide constructive feedback to learners and other facilitators to enhance skill development and knowledge retention.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our virtual facilitation platforms and stay current with new features and best practices for their use.
  • Develop and maintain facilitator guides, job aids, and other support materials to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
  • Pilot new virtual training programs and provide detailed feedback to the design team for refinement and improvement.
  • Manage all communications with participants, including pre-course announcements, mid-course reminders, and post-course follow-up and resource sharing.
  • Analyze feedback from course evaluations and learner surveys to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and recommend enhancements.
  • Produce and moderate large-scale webinars and virtual events, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for all attendees.
  • Curate and organize relevant learning content, articles, videos, and resources to supplement formal training programs.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand performance gaps and ensure that facilitation and learning solutions align with strategic business objectives.
  • Assist in the creation of simple micro-learning assets, such as short instructional videos or interactive PDFs, to support learning reinforcement.
  • Uphold and champion adult learning principles in all facilitation activities to maximize the impact and applicability of the training.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • High level of proficiency with virtual classroom and webinar platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Adobe Connect).
  • Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Cornerstone, Canvas, Moodle, or similar platforms for administration and reporting.
  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) for content review and minor edits.
  • Expertise in using interactive and collaborative online tools like Miro, Mural, Mentimeter, and Kahoot! to boost engagement.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint) and Google Workspace for creating and managing training materials.
  • Basic video editing skills and experience with software like Camtasia or Vyond for creating supplementary learning assets.
  • Ability to provide real-time technical troubleshooting for common user issues related to connectivity, audio, and software.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM).

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a facilitation role, with at least 2 years focused on delivering virtual instructor-led training (vILT).

  • A proven track record of receiving positive learner feedback and demonstrating measurable training impact.
