Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and implement comprehensive in-game strategies, compositions, and tactical plays tailored for specific opponents and tournament formats.
- Conduct extensive VOD (Video on Demand) reviews of our team's matches and scrims to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for tactical improvement.
- Perform deep-dive analysis on competitor teams, dissecting their playstyles, tendencies, set plays, and individual player habits to formulate effective counter-strategies.
- Collaborate directly with coaches and players to communicate strategic plans, provide data-driven feedback, and facilitate productive theory-crafting sessions.
- Design and manage a structured scrimmaging schedule with appropriate partners to test new strategies and prepare the team for upcoming matches.
- Build and maintain advanced statistical models and dashboards to track team and individual player performance metrics over time.
- Analyze global and regional meta-game trends, identifying emerging strategies, champion/agent viability, and innovative tactics to ensure our team stays ahead of the curve.
- Provide live, in-game strategic support and data-driven adjustments during matches and scrims where permitted.
- Prepare detailed pre-match scouting reports and presentations for the coaching staff and players, outlining the opponent's expected strategies and our game plan.
- Lead post-match debrief sessions, using video and statistical evidence to guide a constructive review of the team's performance and decision-making.
- Create and manage a comprehensive library of strategies, set plays, and opponent data that is easily accessible to the team.
- Work closely with the Head Coach to develop long-term player development plans based on performance data and identified skill gaps.
- Utilize advanced data visualization tools to present complex findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to a non-technical audience.
- Scout and analyze amateur and semi-professional scenes to identify emerging talent and potential future meta shifts.
- Research and evaluate new analytical tools, software, and methodologies that can provide a competitive advantage.
- Manage the data collection process, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all gameplay, performance, and scouting data.
- Develop custom analytical frameworks to answer complex strategic questions, such as optimal draft priorities or positional rotations.
- Assist in the pick/ban phase by providing real-time data and historical analysis on champion/agent matchups and opponent drafting patterns.
- Monitor player biometrics and in-game performance data to identify signs of fatigue or burnout, collaborating with performance coaches on interventions.
- Author internal whitepapers and strategic guides on meta-developments and fundamental game theory to elevate the entire organization's competitive intelligence.
