Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Build, configure, and deploy high-performance gaming PCs, ensuring all systems meet stringent performance benchmarks and tournament specifications.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of gaming hardware, including PCs, consoles (PlayStation, Xbox), and peripherals (monitors, mice, keyboards, headsets).
- Manage and maintain a large inventory of technical assets, implementing systematic tracking, storage, and lifecycle management for all esports equipment.
- Install, update, and patch game clients, operating systems, and essential software across all competitive stations, ensuring version parity and stability.
- Design, set up, and manage wired local area networks (LAN) for tournament environments to guarantee low-latency and stable connectivity for all competitors.
- Monitor network performance in real-time during events, rapidly identifying and resolving issues like packet loss, jitter, or latency spikes.
- Set up and operate live streaming and broadcast production systems, including software like OBS Studio, vMix, and XSplit, and hardware like video switchers and capture cards.
- Manage all audio and video signal flows for broadcasts, ensuring clear communication, proper camera feeds, and synchronized gameplay footage.
- Provide direct, on-site technical support to players and staff before, during, and after matches, addressing any hardware or software issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Execute the complete technical setup and teardown for live events, including staging, cabling, and configuring all player and production equipment.
- Collaborate with tournament administrators and referees to implement and enforce technical rules and address any in-game technical pauses or disputes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to standardize operations.
- Conduct pre-event technical rehearsals and stress tests on all systems to proactively identify and mitigate potential points of failure.
- Manage the physical environment of the esports arena or stage, including power distribution, climate control considerations, and cable management, to ensure safety and operational integrity.
- Research and test new hardware, software, and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our technical and broadcast capabilities.
- Interface with third-party vendors and contractors for equipment rental, specialized support, and venue services.
- Execute precise system imaging and cloning procedures to ensure rapid deployment and consistent software environments across dozens of competition PCs.
- Oversee the technical integrity of both online and offline qualifiers, ensuring all participants compete on a fair and technically sound platform.
- Configure and manage in-ear monitor and communication systems for players and coaching staff.
- Act as the technical point of contact for broadcast talent, ensuring their on-air systems, monitors, and communication devices are fully operational.
