Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, articulate, and execute the firm's comprehensive global electronic trading strategy across multiple asset classes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of the algorithmic trading suite, from ideation and quantitative research to development, implementation, real-time monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a world-class team of quantitative researchers, traders, and technologists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Hold direct P&L responsibility for the electronic trading business, including setting ambitious revenue targets, managing the budget, and controlling operational costs.
- Act as a senior relationship manager for key institutional clients, providing expert consultation on execution strategies, market structure nuances, and our electronic product capabilities.
- Drive the continuous evolution of our trading infrastructure in partnership with technology teams, focusing on reducing latency, enhancing system stability, and scaling for future growth.
- Direct the firm's Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) program, utilizing sophisticated analytics to measure execution quality, benchmark performance, and rigorously prove best execution to clients and regulators.
- Stay at the forefront of market structure evolution, regulatory changes (e.g., MiFID II, Reg NMS), and emerging technologies, translating insights into actionable strategic adjustments.
- Manage critical relationships with external vendors, including exchanges, ECNs, dark pools, and data/technology providers, to optimize service levels and negotiate favorable terms.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce a robust risk management framework for all electronic trading activities, including pre-trade risk controls, algorithmic behavior monitoring, and kill-switch protocols.
- Provide senior leadership and subject matter expertise on electronic trading to internal stakeholders, including sales teams, compliance officers, and the executive management committee.
- Spearhead the research and development of next-generation smart order routers (SOR) and bespoke algorithmic strategies to enhance execution performance and capture new market share.
- Champion the use of advanced data science, machine learning, and AI techniques to improve predictive modeling, signal generation, and adaptive algorithmic logic.
- Analyze vast sets of market and trade data to uncover hidden patterns, identify new alpha opportunities, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Work in close partnership with compliance and legal teams to ensure all trading systems and strategies are fully compliant with global regulatory standards.
- Develop and present strategic business plans, performance reviews, and market outlook reports to senior executive leadership.

- Oversee the technical certification and onboarding process for new execution venues, data feeds, and client FIX connectivity.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical trading system incidents, leading the rapid response and resolution process to minimize financial and reputational risk.
- Conduct deep-dive competitive analysis to benchmark our electronic product suite against rivals, identifying strategic gaps and opportunities for differentiation.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Electronic Trading Expertise: Deep, expert-level knowledge of algorithmic trading strategies (e.g., VWAP, TWAP, IS, POV), smart order routing (SOR) logic, and internalizers.
- Quantitative Analysis: Strong background in statistics, econometrics, and quantitative modeling, with hands-on experience in alpha research and signal generation.
- Market Microstructure: An encyclopedic understanding of market microstructure, liquidity dynamics, and order book behavior across major asset classes (Equities, FX, Futures, Options).
- Programming & Data Science: Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and prototyping. Familiarity with high-performance languages like C++ or Java is a significant plus. Experience with KDB+/q is highly desirable.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
