Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and refine a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum that aligns with state standards and our organization's educational philosophy.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development to teaching staff to enhance instructional practices and classroom management skills.
- Conduct regular classroom observations using established tools to provide constructive, actionable feedback and ensure program quality and consistency.
- Oversee and ensure full compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and accreditation standards (e.g., NAEYC).
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children and families, promoting strong home-school partnerships.
- Manage the child assessment process, including training staff on assessment tools, analyzing data to inform instruction, and communicating progress to families.
- Plan and lead engaging, effective team meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and training workshops for educational staff.
- Guide the integration of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies and positive behavior support systems throughout the program.
- Serve as the primary educational leader and resource for staff, parents, and the community on matters related to early childhood development and education.
- Manage the daily operational logistics of the early learning program, including staff scheduling, classroom ratios, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate in the development and management of the program budget, including the procurement of classroom supplies, materials, and educational technology.
- Lead the recruitment, enrollment, and orientation process for new students and families, ensuring a smooth and positive transition into the program.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts or concerns among staff, students, and parents with professionalism and empathy.
- Model best practices by occasionally co-teaching or demonstrating lessons in classrooms to support teacher growth.
- Develop and maintain a rich, stimulating, and organized learning environment across all classrooms.
Secondary Functions
