Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive, one-on-one needs assessments with clients to identify their skills, education, experience, interests, and potential barriers to employment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor collaborative, results-oriented Career Action Plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances and goals.
- Provide expert coaching on all aspects of the job search process, including resume and cover letter optimization, effective job search strategies, and interview preparation.
- Facilitate engaging and informative group workshops on topics such as career exploration, labour market trends, LinkedIn optimization, networking, and workplace professionalism.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential case files, documenting all client interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with organizational and funder requirements.
- Research and interpret complex Labour Market Information (LMI) to provide clients with current, relevant advice on in-demand industries, occupations, and required skills.
- Administer and interpret a variety of vocational and career assessment tools (e.g., MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, Skills Assessments) to aid in client self-discovery.
- Act as a client advocate, liaising with employers, educational institutions, and community agencies to foster opportunities and build supportive networks.
- Proactively network with local employers to understand their hiring needs, promote clients for specific roles, and develop a pipeline of job placement opportunities.
- Provide post-employment support and follow-up coaching to clients and employers to ensure successful job retention and address any workplace integration challenges.
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources, including housing support, mental health services, financial literacy programs, and skills upgrading or training programs.
- Assist clients in navigating and applying for funding opportunities, apprenticeships, wage subsidies, and other government-sponsored employment programs.
- Perform direct job-matching services, screening candidates and referring qualified individuals to suitable vacancies from our network of employer partners.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the Employment Standards Act, human rights legislation, and other relevant laws impacting the workplace.
- Ensure all service delivery and documentation meets or exceeds the contractual obligations and performance targets set by government funders.
⚫ Conduct crisis intervention and provide immediate support and referrals for clients facing acute personal or financial challenges that impact their employment journey. - Customize services to meet the needs of a diverse client population, including newcomers, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, youth, and mature workers.
- Utilize and maintain a client relationship management (CRM) or case management database with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Market employment programs and services to the community and prospective clients through outreach activities, information sessions, and community events.
- Support clients in negotiating job offers, understanding employment contracts, and preparing for their first day of work.
Secondary Functions

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
