Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex engineering challenges related to product performance, manufacturing processes, or system failures.
- Conduct in-depth root cause analysis (RCA) on non-conforming products or process deviations, developing and implementing robust corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
- Analyze and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and datasets to provide clear guidance and disposition for components and assemblies.
- Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans, validation protocols, and qualification procedures for new products, equipment, and process modifications.
- Lead and participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify potential risks in product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve detailed technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Provide expert technical support and training to internal teams, including production, quality, and maintenance personnel, to enhance their technical capabilities and understanding.
- Interface directly with suppliers and vendors to resolve technical issues with raw materials or components, ensuring adherence to quality and performance specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Manage small to medium-sized engineering projects, including defining scope, creating timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating resources from conception through to completion.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment that can enhance engineering capabilities and operational performance.
- Perform detailed design reviews and provide critical feedback to the design engineering team to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, findings, and project updates to a diverse audience, including senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure all engineering activities and documentation comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, FAA) and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding engineering processes and controls.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends and insights that can inform engineering decisions.
- Contribute to the organization's long-term technical strategy and product development roadmap by providing insights from the field and factory floor.

- CAD/CAE Software: Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, MATLAB).
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Expertise in systematic problem-solving methodologies like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis.
