Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute comprehensive data cleansing and deduplication processes within our CRM to ensure a single, reliable source of truth for all account and contact records.
- Proactively source, research, and integrate data from various third-party providers (e.g., ZoomInfo, D&B) and public sources to augment and enrich existing datasets.
- Perform rigorous manual and automated data validation checks to maintain the highest levels of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all business systems.
- Develop and implement robust data enrichment strategies to append missing firmographic, technographic, and contact-level information to our core customer and prospect database.
- Systematically identify data quality issues, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions for both immediate remediation and long-term prevention.
- Manage and maintain complex data hierarchies, including parent-child relationships for corporate accounts, to support accurate territory alignment and sales reporting.
- Monitor, measure, and report on key data quality metrics and SLAs, delivering regular updates to stakeholders on the overall health of our data ecosystem.
- Standardize, normalize, and transform data fields according to established data governance policies and industry best practices.
- Fulfill data scrubbing and list import requests from sales and marketing teams, ensuring all new data adheres to strict quality standards before system entry.
- Classify and segment accounts based on industry, geography, employee count, and other critical firmographic attributes to support precise, targeted go-to-market campaigns.
- Conduct regular, scheduled audits of our CRM and integrated platforms to identify and correct data drift and decay over time.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data discrepancy tickets submitted by end-users, ensuring timely and accurate corrections with clear communication.
- Curate and govern master data records for our most critical business domains, acting as a key steward for our valuable data assets.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data standards, enrichment processes, and operational workflows to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Verify and update contact information, job titles, and roles to ensure our sales and marketing outreach is accurate and effective.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and answer critical business questions for various departments.
- Contribute to the organization's overarching data strategy and roadmap by providing expert insights on data quality, governance, and enrichment opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with business units, including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, to understand and translate their data needs into actionable engineering and operational requirements.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an agile data or operations team.

- Work closely with the data engineering team to help define requirements and logic for automated ETL jobs and data integration pipelines.
- Analyze and quantify the business impact of poor data quality, presenting findings and recommendations to leadership to drive strategic improvements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced Spreadsheet Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX MATCH, and Power Query for data manipulation and analysis.
- SQL Competency: Strong ability to write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data from relational databases.
- CRM Experience: Hands-on experience with a major CRM platform, preferably Salesforce, including data loading (e.g., Data Loader), report building, and understanding of the standard object model.
