Primary Functions

  • Design, rehearse and deliver original or commissioned performance material (sets, sketches, songs, routines, illusions, monologues) tailored to venue, audience demographics, event type and show length, ensuring consistent quality across repeated performances.

  • Coordinate with production teams on technical cues: lighting, sound, video playback, stage entrances/exits and special effects, writing cue sheets and attending technical rehearsals to ensure flawless execution.
  • Manage personal costumes, makeup, props, musical instruments and specialist equipment (e.g., rigging for aerial work, pyrotechnics permits, illusion apparatus), including regular maintenance, transport, repair and safe storage.
  • Negotiate, read and execute performance contracts, riders and booking agreements; liaise with promoters, venue managers and booking agents to secure fair compensation, travel and accommodation.
  • Actively promote shows and personal brand through social media, mailing lists, press releases, demo reels and promotional events; produce short-form video and photo content optimized for ticket sales and profile growth.
  • Sell and upsell merchandise, VIP meet-and-greets or premium experiences on-site and online, tracking inventory and revenue to contribute to overall profitability.

  • Teach masterclasses, run workshops and lead outreach programs (schools, community centers) to expand income streams and strengthen local audience bases.
