Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement a comprehensive and innovative entertainment strategy and programming calendar that aligns with brand standards and appeals to a diverse guest demographic.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of events, from initial brainstorming and planning to flawless execution and post-event analysis, ensuring high-quality production value.
- Manage the departmental budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring expenditures, processing invoices, and performing variance analysis to ensure financial targets are met.
- Source, audition, negotiate contracts with, and manage a wide range of performers, artists, bands, DJs, and technical staff, ensuring a high standard of talent.
- Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of entertainment staff, technicians, and performers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
- Direct all aspects of technical production, including the setup, operation, and maintenance of sound, lighting, video, and staging equipment for all events and performances.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales departments to effectively promote entertainment offerings through various channels to maximize attendance and guest engagement.
- Act as the primary host and emcee for major events and activities, demonstrating high energy and an engaging stage presence to connect with the audience.
- Continuously evaluate the success of entertainment programs by monitoring guest feedback, attendance metrics, and satisfaction scores, using data to inform future programming decisions.
- Ensure all entertainment activities and venues comply with health, safety, and security regulations, including risk assessments and emergency procedures.
- Maintain and manage a detailed inventory of all costumes, props, technical equipment, and supplies, coordinating repairs and purchases as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, talent agencies, and production companies to ensure access to top-tier resources and talent.
- Personally supervise and be present during high-profile events to provide on-the-spot direction, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Develop and conduct regular training programs for entertainment staff on performance standards, guest interaction, and safety protocols.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new entertainment concepts to continuously innovate and refresh the guest offering.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on entertainment operations, financial performance, and guest feedback to senior management.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as Food & Beverage, Banquets, and Hotel Operations, to ensure integrated and seamless delivery of event experiences.
- Handle guest concerns and feedback related to entertainment in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner, turning challenges into opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the complete administrative duties of the Entertainment department, including payroll, scheduling, staff evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop unique, themed entertainment concepts for holidays, special seasons, and private events that drive revenue and enhance the brand's reputation.
Secondary Functions
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage department to develop entertainment-and-dining packages and promotions.
- Assist the marketing team in creating engaging social media content, including behind-the-scenes footage and performer interviews.

- Participate in property-wide manager-on-duty (MOD) shifts, overseeing general operations and responding to guest and facility needs.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
5-8 years of progressive experience in live entertainment, event management, or hospitality, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
Preferred:
Direct experience as an Entertainment Manager or Assistant Director for a large-scale cruise line, luxury resort, casino, or major entertainment venue is highly preferred. A proven track record of successfully managing large teams, budgets, and complex event calendars.
