Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design and deliver dynamic, hands-on undergraduate and graduate courses on critical entrepreneurship topics, including new venture creation, entrepreneurial finance, business model innovation, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Develop, refine, and manage a comprehensive and sequential entrepreneurship curriculum, ensuring it remains current with industry trends, modern pedagogical approaches, and lean startup methodologies.
  • Provide intensive, one-on-one and group mentoring to student and alumni founders, offering expert guidance on everything from customer discovery and product-market fit to pitch deck refinement and fundraising strategies.
  • Act as the primary coach for teams participating in internal and external business plan competitions, helping them to develop compelling narratives and robust financial projections.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute a diverse portfolio of co-curricular programs, such as speaker series, skill-building workshops, networking events, and multi-day bootcamps.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, and management of cohorts for campus incubator or accelerator programs, guiding teams through a structured process of venture development.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust network of external mentors, angel investors, venture capitalists, and industry experts to support student ventures and enrich the learning experience.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with local and regional economic development agencies, corporations, and non-profits to create opportunities for students and build the institution's brand in the innovation community.
  • Organize and manage large-scale events, including an annual pitch competition and an end-of-year venture showcase, to highlight student innovation and connect founders with the broader community.
  • Teach students the practical application of core entrepreneurial frameworks, such as the Business Model Canvas, Lean Canvas, Value Proposition Design, and Design Thinking.
  • Guide founders through the legal and administrative aspects of starting a business, including incorporation, intellectual property protection, and founders' agreements.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and program effectiveness through a variety of methods, using data to drive continuous improvement in curriculum and program design.
  • Develop and manage the operational budget for entrepreneurship programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization.
  • Serve as a thought leader and prominent representative of the institution at conferences, panels, and community events related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Create compelling marketing and communication materials to promote entrepreneurship programs and recruit a diverse and talented pool of student participants.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, market trends, and venture capital activity to ensure the advice and content provided are timely, relevant, and actionable.
  • Advise the institution's leadership on strategies for fostering a campus-wide culture of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
