Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate advanced screening equipment, including X-ray machines, magnetometers (walk-through metal detectors), and hand-held wands, to effectively inspect individuals and their belongings.
- Meticulously analyze X-ray imagery in real-time to identify prohibited items, potential threats, and contraband hidden within baggage, packages, and personal effects.
- Conduct professional and respectful physical pat-down searches of individuals when required by security protocols to resolve alarms or suspicions.
- Perform thorough manual inspections of carry-on and checked baggage, purses, briefcases, and other containers to locate and isolate restricted or dangerous items.
- Diligently verify government-issued identification, boarding passes, access badges, or other credentials to ensure the identity and authorization of all persons seeking entry.
- Maintain strict control over entry and exit points, ensuring a secure perimeter and preventing unauthorized access or "tailgating."
- Clearly and courteously communicate security procedures, instructions, and requirements to a diverse public, ensuring compliance while minimizing anxiety and delays.
- De-escalate potential conflicts with professionalism and tact, effectively managing individuals who are uncooperative, anxious, or distressed.
- Maintain constant situational awareness of the screening checkpoint and surrounding area to detect and respond to suspicious behavior, security threats, or unusual circumstances.
- Accurately document and report all security incidents, breaches, or unusual occurrences using established reporting procedures and systems.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to equipment alarms, security alerts, and emergency situations in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and adherence to all company, client, and government-mandated security policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Confiscate and properly handle prohibited items, contraband, and dangerous goods according to strict legal and procedural guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting individuals with questions, providing directions, and facilitating a smooth and efficient screening process.
- Work effectively as part of a cohesive team, coordinating actions with other screeners, supervisors, and law enforcement personnel to ensure seamless security coverage.
- Stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and regularly lift and move baggage or other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, appearance, and bearing at all times, representing the organization with integrity and confidence.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine tests on all screening equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Participate in recurrent and ongoing training programs to stay current with emerging security threats, new technologies, and updated screening techniques.
- Monitor CCTV systems or other surveillance tools to observe crowds and identify potential issues before they escalate at the checkpoint.
- Manage the flow of individuals through the screening process, providing clear direction to prevent congestion and maintain an orderly environment.

- Assist in the on-the-job training and mentoring of new Entry Screeners.

Experience Requirements
