Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Conduct thorough client consultations and professional skin analyses, including medical history review and contraindication screening, to design customized treatment plans that align with client goals and safety.

  6. Provide professional waxing services (body and facial), including hot wax, soft wax and strip waxing methods, with proper hygiene, skin prep and aftercare advice.
  7. Deliver lash and brow services, such as tinting, shaping, brow lamination and lash application/removal, ensuring symmetry and client safety.
  8. Conduct patch testing for product sensitivities, new treatments or tinting agents and document results in client records to prevent adverse reactions.
  9. Recommend and retail professional-grade skincare products and homecare regimens tailored to each client’s skin concerns, driving retail KPIs through consultative selling.
  10. Create and update individualized treatment plans and progress notes in the salon/spa or clinic management system (POS/EHR), maintaining accurate client records for continuity of care.
  11. Follow strict infection control, sanitation and sterilization procedures for tools, linens and treatment rooms to meet state regulations and spa health standards.
  12. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and equipment, perform routine equipment checks and coordinate repairs or calibration as needed.
  13. Educate clients on realistic expectations, aftercare procedures, sun protection and lifestyle modifications to extend treatment results and reduce complications.
  14. Schedule appointments, manage follow-up bookings and proactively handle cancellations and rescheduling to maximize client retention and appointment flow.
  15. Identify contraindications and refer clients to dermatologists or other healthcare providers when medical concerns are outside the esthetic scope.
  16. Meet and exceed monthly service and product sales goals through package offers, membership programs and strategic upsells.
  17. Participate in new client onboarding, including intake forms and consent forms, ensuring compliance with local licensing and clinic policy.
  18. Stay current with new skincare technologies, trends, active ingredients and regulatory updates by attending continuing education, workshops and vendor training.
  19. Support promotional campaigns and seasonal service launches by creating service descriptions, demonstrating treatments and contributing to pricing strategies.
  20. Handle client inquiries, complaints and feedback professionally—documenting incidents and escalating to management when appropriate—to maintain high satisfaction and reputation.
  21. Mentor and train junior estheticians, interns and assistants in treatment protocols, sanitation, customer service and retail strategies.
  22. Maintain stock levels, perform inventory audits of professional products and consumables, and coordinate supply ordering to avoid service interruptions.

Secondary Functions

  • Develop and publish occasional client education content for social media and in-clinic displays (treatment highlights, before/after care tips).
  • Assist in local marketing initiatives, open-house events, and cross-promotions with other service lines (massage, laser).
