Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive corporate ethics programs and governance frameworks to guide decision-making across all business units.
- Conduct in-depth ethical risk assessments for new products, technologies (particularly AI/ML systems), and business initiatives to identify potential harms and societal impacts.
- Advise leadership and product teams on the principles of responsible innovation, including fairness, accountability, transparency, and privacy-by-design.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on emerging ethical issues and global regulations related to AI, data privacy (like GDPR, CCPA), and digital conduct.
- Design and deliver engaging training and workshops for employees at all levels to foster ethical awareness and build a strong culture of integrity.
- Lead and facilitate internal ethics committees or review boards, providing structured analysis and recommendations on complex ethical dilemmas.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to translate ethical principles into enforceable policies, standards, and operational controls.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, academics, civil society groups, and industry consortia, to stay ahead of ethical trends and contribute to public discourse.
- Author and publish thought leadership content, such as white papers, best practice guides, and public-facing reports on the organization's ethical commitments and performance.
- Investigate and provide guidance on sensitive ethical concerns and alleged misconduct, ensuring a fair, confidential, and thorough resolution process.
- Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of ethics programs and report progress to executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Provide strategic counsel on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, ensuring alignment with core ethical values.
- Analyze complex datasets and AI model outputs to audit for bias, discrimination, and other unintended ethical consequences.
- Guide engineering and data science teams in the practical application of techniques for explainable AI (XAI) and model interpretability.
