Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, develop, and deliver high-quality, engaging entertainment routines, such as magic shows, musical acts, character performances, or interactive games, tailored to the event's theme and audience demographic.
  • Perform as a specific, well-known character, maintaining character integrity through authentic voice, mannerisms, and interactions while posing for photographs and engaging with guests.
  • Dynamically read and interact with audiences of all sizes, adapting performances in real-time based on crowd energy and response to maximize engagement and enjoyment.
  • Lead and facilitate group activities, dances, and interactive segments, confidently encouraging participation from guests of all ages to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, event planners, and venue managers before and during events to coordinate performance schedules, technical requirements, and logistical details for a seamless execution.
  • Manage, maintain, and transport a professional inventory of props, costumes, and equipment, ensuring everything is clean, in excellent working order, and safely handled.
  • Set up, operate, and break down personal performance equipment, which may include sound systems, microphones, basic lighting rigs, and digital music players.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by handling client inquiries, special requests, and feedback with a positive, professional, and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Proactively market entertainment services through networking, social media, and client follow-ups to build a strong personal brand and secure future bookings.
  • Adhere to strict event timelines, demonstrating exceptional punctuality for arrival, setup, performance start/end times, and breakdown to ensure the event schedule runs smoothly.
  • Customize performance content, music playlists, and interactive elements to align with specific client needs, such as corporate branding, wedding themes, or a child's favorite character.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness and stamina to sustain energetic and often physically demanding performances, frequently while wearing elaborate costumes.
  • Ensure a safe performance environment at all times, being mindful of audience members (especially children), potential hazards, and the proper use of equipment.
  • Conduct pre-event consultations with clients to fully understand their vision, expectations, and the specific goals for the entertainment portion of their event.
  • Facilitate memorable photo opportunities and meet-and-greets, creating special moments for guests and enhancing their overall experience.
  • Handle essential administrative duties related to bookings, including managing contracts, creating invoices, and scheduling events using management software or personal calendars.
  • Continuously research and stay current with entertainment trends, popular music, new characters, and innovative performance techniques to keep acts fresh and in high demand.
  • Travel to various event locations, including private residences, corporate offices, hotels, and outdoor venues, often requiring reliable personal transportation and navigation skills.
