Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Lead and facilitate engaging panel discussions, fireside chats, Q&A sessions, and interactive segments for both global virtual audiences and in-person attendees.
- Conduct thorough pre-event research on topics, speaker backgrounds, and audience demographics to formulate insightful questions and guide relevant, in-depth conversations.
- Collaborate closely with event producers, content creators, and marketing teams to develop the event's narrative, structure the run-of-show, and prepare detailed moderator scripts.
- Act as the primary on-screen or on-stage host, masterfully delivering opening remarks, setting a welcoming and energetic tone, and guiding the audience through the event agenda.
- Meticulously manage session timing to ensure the event adheres to the schedule, speakers stay on track, and all planned content is covered effectively.
- Proactively stimulate and manage audience interaction using a variety of tools and techniques, including live polls, moderated Q&A, chat engagement, and breakout room facilitation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for speakers during the live event, providing clear cues, time checks, and technical support to ensure they feel confident and prepared.
- Skillfully filter, prioritize, and synthesize audience questions in real-time, selecting the most impactful and relevant inquiries to pose to panelists.
- Gracefully and professionally troubleshoot any unforeseen technical glitches, unexpected speaker issues, or challenging audience interactions with poise and quick thinking.
- Lead comprehensive technical rehearsals and content dry-runs with all speakers and stakeholders to guarantee a seamless and polished execution on event day.
- Craft and deliver compelling opening and closing statements that articulate the event's purpose, summarize key insights, and drive attendees toward specific calls to action.
- Monitor online chat streams and social media backchannels to gauge audience sentiment, identify emerging discussion themes, and create opportunities for real-time engagement.
- Synthesize complex information on the fly, adeptly connecting disparate points from different speakers to weave a cohesive and easy-to-follow narrative for the audience.
- Facilitate smooth and professional transitions between speakers, panel segments, and breakout sessions, maintaining the event's momentum and energy.
- Interview keynote speakers, C-suite executives, and industry leaders in one-on-one formats, drawing out compelling anecdotes, expert opinions, and actionable advice.
- Uphold and enforce the event's code of conduct, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all presenters and attendees.
- Provide detailed post-event feedback to the production and content teams on session flow, audience engagement levels, and speaker performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Introduce speakers with well-researched and engaging biographies that establish their credibility and generate audience anticipation.
- Manage the virtual "green room" or backstage area, ensuring speakers are technically prepared, comfortable, and queued up for their scheduled session times.
- Work in tandem with the A/V and technical production teams to fully leverage the event platform's features for maximum audience impact and interaction.
