Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Greet, register and orient attendees at entrances, ticketing points and information desks, providing clear directions and friendly customer service to improve guest experience and reduce queue times.
- Operate ticket scanners, mobile POS devices and access control systems (wristbands, hand stamps, RFID) to verify admission, enforce ticket type restrictions and monitor capacity in real time.

- Set up, position and secure signage, stanchions, barriers, seating, tables, and other event infrastructure according to layout diagrams to meet sightline, flow and accessibility requirements.
- Load and unload event equipment, handle crates and cases, and assist with stage, lighting and sound setups under supervision, following safe lifting and manual handling practices.
- Monitor crowd flow and density in high-traffic areas, proactively managing entry/exit points and working with security to defuse bottlenecks and prevent unsafe crowding.
- Enforce venue policies and local regulations, including age-restricted areas, alcohol service limits, prohibited items, and smoking rules, communicating politely but firmly with guests to maintain safety and compliance.

- Manage concessions and merchandise points when assigned, operating cash registers, processing credit transactions, performing basic cash reconciliation and following cash-handling policies.
- Respond quickly and effectively to medical or security incidents by alerting first responders, administering basic aid if trained (CPR/First Aid), and completing thorough incident reports for management review.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the venue during events by coordinating trash removal, restroom checks and spill response to present a positive environment for attendees.
- Liaise with vendors, food trucks and exhibitors to ensure timely setup, compliance with venue rules and efficient breakdown, addressing vendor needs and escalating unresolved issues to supervisors.
- Assist backstage and artist relations with credential checks, secure access control and timely stage changes to support production schedules and performer needs.
- Conduct rounds to inspect emergency exits, fire lanes, barricades and safety equipment; report hazards and coordinate with venue operations to remedy issues before they affect guests.
- Collect lost and found items, log property, and implement chain-of-custody procedures while communicating with guests and security to recover personal belongings.
- Execute event teardown and load-out tasks, return rented equipment to staging areas, and help perform inventory checks to ensure all assets are accounted for and ready for transport.
- Document shift activity, crowd incidents, maintenance issues and guest feedback through standard reporting tools or digital forms to support post-event debriefs and continuous improvement.
- Assist in parking and traffic flow management when required, directing vehicles, validating parking credentials and coordinating with third-party traffic staff to maintain safe ingress/egress.
- Uphold health and safety and food handling standards in concession areas by monitoring prep and service practices, escalating violations and facilitating corrective actions with concession managers.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the attendee experience — recommending signage changes, queue reconfiguration, or staffing adjustments based on observed guest behavior and real-time feedback.
- Operate two-way radios and other communications tools, maintaining professional, clear and concise exchanges with colleagues to coordinate response, relay status and request support.
- Follow emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place protocols, assist guests in orderly exit procedures, and provide calm leadership until directed otherwise by emergency services or senior staff.
- Support box office operations during peak periods by facilitating will-call pickups, issuing physical tickets and resolving simple ticketing disputes while escalating complex issues to supervisors.
- Facilitate VIP and sponsor relations tasks such as escorting guests, prepping hospitality areas and ensuring contracted deliverables are executed to standard.
- Participate in training sessions, safety drills and post-event debriefs, contributing observations and lessons learned to refine operational checklists and improve future event execution.
Secondary Functions
