Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-year category strategies for high-spend, complex commodity areas to achieve business objectives and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including in-depth market analysis, supplier identification and pre-qualification, RFP/RFQ/RFI development and execution, and comprehensive bid analysis.
- Conduct and lead complex, high-value contract negotiations with key suppliers, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), risk mitigation, performance metrics, and long-term partnership agreements.
- Manage and cultivate strategic supplier relationships through robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs, including conducting regular executive business reviews, tracking performance, and driving joint value creation initiatives.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact and point of escalation for critical suppliers, resolving complex issues related to quality, delivery, cost, and contractual performance.
- Perform sophisticated spend analysis and market intelligence research to identify savings opportunities, understand critical cost drivers, and anticipate market trends and supply chain risks.
- Collaborate closely with senior-level internal stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Legal to understand business requirements and ensure procurement strategies are in lockstep with corporate goals.
- Develop and implement advanced cost models and should-cost analyses to support negotiation strategies and ensure price fairness and market competitiveness.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the supplier selection, evaluation, and onboarding process, ensuring all due diligence and compliance requirements are meticulously met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and leverage new technologies like e-sourcing and AI.
- Monitor, manage, and report on supplier performance against contractual obligations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective action plans as necessary to ensure excellence.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive risk mitigation plan for assigned categories, including identifying potential supply chain disruptions and establishing robust contingency plans.
- Champion procurement best practices and policies throughout the organization, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and providing guidance to other business units.
- Prepare and present detailed business cases, sourcing recommendations, and performance dashboards to the executive leadership team.
- Manage a strategic portfolio of contracts, ensuring compliance, tracking renewal dates, and proactively identifying opportunities for renegotiation or consolidation.
- Evaluate and assess Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including purchase price, logistics, inventory, quality, and lifecycle costs, to make holistic and data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Lead the development and implementation of supplier diversity and sustainability programs within assigned categories to meet corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals.

- Act as the commercial lead for new product introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring suppliers are engaged early and that cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved.
