Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain modules, with a deep focus on Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Materials Management (MM), and Transportation Management (TM).
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of the SAP supply chain landscape, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership to business stakeholders and IT leadership.
  • Architect and deliver complex, end-to-end SAP SCM solutions that align with global business objectives, driving process harmonization and operational efficiency across procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Conduct detailed business process analysis workshops with key stakeholders to gather requirements, identify pain points, and map current-state vs. future-state processes within the SAP framework.
  • Develop comprehensive functional and technical specifications, configuration documents, process flows, and robust testing scenarios for new SAP functionalities, enhancements, and system integrations.
  • Manage and execute full-cycle project implementations from blueprinting and realization to final preparation, go-live, and post-go-live hypercare support, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable long-term fixes to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance (FI/CO), Sales (SD), and Production Planning (PP), to ensure seamless integration and data integrity across the entire enterprise system landscape.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new SAP features, Fiori apps, best practices, and innovative technologies to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Lead and oversee complex data migration activities for SCM objects, including defining data cleansing strategies, developing migration tools (LTMC), and executing multiple data validation cycles.
  • Mentor junior SAP analysts and team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and developing the overall competency and capability of the internal SAP team.
  • Define and govern the master data elements within SAP MM, EWM, and IBP, ensuring strict adherence to data governance standards and best practices for data quality.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, including unit testing, string testing, systems integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solution quality and user readiness.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality end-user training materials and classroom sessions to facilitate smooth adoption of new processes and system functionalities.
  • Act as a critical liaison between the business and technical development (ABAP) teams, translating business requirements into clear technical specifications for custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW).
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party solutions and SAP cloud extensions (e.g., SAP Ariba Network, Fieldglass) to complement and enhance our core SCM capabilities.
  • Stay current with the latest SAP S/4HANA releases, industry trends, and emerging technologies to provide strategic recommendations for the multi-year SCM systems roadmap.
  • Manage system dependencies and critical integration points with non-SAP systems (e.g., 3PL WMS, Carrier Systems), ensuring robust and reliable data exchange for all supply chain operations.
  • Champion business process re-engineering efforts, challenging the status quo and guiding the business toward standardized, best-practice solutions enabled by SAP technology over bespoke customization.
  • Define, implement, and maintain robust security roles and authorization concepts within the SAP SCM modules to ensure compliance with SoD principles and data protection policies.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis using SAP query tools and embedded analytics.
  • Contribute to the organization's overarching data strategy and long-term enterprise systems roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate evolving supply chain needs into tangible system engineering requirements and user stories.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and agile ceremonies within the data engineering and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, a knowledge base, and a central solution repository.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expert-level configuration and implementation experience in multiple core SAP SCM modules, specifically SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM), and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
  • Proven hands-on project experience with SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for demand planning, S&OP, or inventory optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP Transportation Management (TM) and/or Logistics Execution (LE-TRA) and Shipment Costing.
  • Demonstrable experience with at least two full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations or large-scale brownfield/bluefield migrations from SAP ECC.
  • Deep understanding of the integration points between SCM modules and other SAP modules like FI/CO, SD, and PP (cross-functional integration).
  • Practical knowledge of the SAP Activate methodology and experience working in agile or hybrid project environments.
  • Competency in reading and debugging ABAP code to troubleshoot issues and the ability to write detailed functional specifications for RICEFW objects.
  • Extensive experience with S/4HANA data migration strategies and tools, particularly the SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC).
  • Mastery of SAP Best Practices and the ability to articulate their value to guide business users toward standard solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with the SAP Fiori user experience, including app activation, personalization, and launchpad design for supply chain roles.
