Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to established procedures to ensure continuous and efficient operation throughout the shift.
  • Perform intricate assembly line tasks, accurately fitting and joining parts to build complete products or sub-assemblies based on technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Conduct regular in-process quality checks and visual inspections on raw materials, components, and finished goods to identify defects and ensure adherence to strict quality standards.
  • Safely transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to designated areas within the factory using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Adhere rigorously to all company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and workplace procedures, including the consistent and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Prepare finished products for shipment by packaging, labeling, and palletizing items according to customer specifications and internal shipping requirements.
  • Accurately complete production logs, quality control forms, and other necessary documentation to meticulously track output, downtime, and material usage.
  • Identify and report operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or material discrepancies to the shift supervisor or maintenance team for prompt investigation and resolution.
  • Set up and calibrate production equipment at the beginning of a manufacturing run, making minor adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Follow detailed verbal and written instructions, including blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to ensure product specifications are met precisely.
  • Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines and monitor the production process to prevent jams or malfunctions.
  • Perform final product testing to verify functionality and quality before packaging, ensuring every item meets the required performance benchmarks.

Secondary Functions

  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and work areas to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment (5S principles).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel to meet daily production targets and collaboratively resolve workflow challenges.
  • Assist in inventory management by helping with cycle counts and reporting low stock levels of materials and supplies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing suggestions for enhancing efficiency, safety, and product quality based on hands-on experience.
  • Properly sort and dispose of scrap, waste, and recyclable materials in accordance with company and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members by demonstrating correct work procedures and safety protocols.
  • Show flexibility by cross-training in different departments or on various production lines to support operational needs and cover staff absences.
  • Unload, check, and stock incoming materials and components from delivery trucks, verifying quantities against purchase orders.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, safety drills, and continuous improvement workshops to foster a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Use basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers to verify that component dimensions meet precise specifications.
