Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Provide comprehensive, continuous primary care to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, establishing and maintaining long-term patient relationships.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and health risk assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad array of acute illnesses, injuries, and infections, developing effective and evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage the long-term care of patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and heart disease, coordinating all aspects of their care.
  • Order, perform, and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures, including lab work, EKG, and imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and other treatments, carefully monitoring patient responses and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Perform common in-office procedures such as suturing minor lacerations, skin biopsies, joint injections, and cryotherapy.
  • Provide comprehensive preventive care, including immunizations, cancer screenings, and wellness exams, tailored to patient age, gender, and risk factors.
  • Counsel patients and their families on critical health topics, including nutrition, physical activity, smoking cessation, and stress management.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists for consultation and specialized care when conditions fall outside the scope of primary care, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain meticulous, accurate, and confidential patient records using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement personalized patient care plans that include goals, interventions, and follow-up schedules for continuity of care.
  • Address patient concerns, answer questions, and provide clear, empathetic education about their health conditions and treatment options.
  • Manage an assigned patient panel, ensuring timely follow-up, proactive outreach, and effective management of population health metrics.
  • Respond appropriately to in-office medical emergencies, providing immediate stabilization and care until emergency medical services arrive.

Secondary Functions

  • Actively participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance meetings to enhance patient safety and care standards.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and education to medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, medical assistants, case managers, and behavioral health specialists, to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in family medicine, practice guidelines, and clinical research through ongoing continuing medical education (CME).
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices within the primary care department.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours patient telephone calls, providing guidance and addressing urgent medical concerns.
  • Engage in community health and wellness initiatives or health fairs to promote disease prevention and public health education.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFP).
  • Unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for charting, order entry, and patient management.
  • Competency in performing a wide range of office-based medical procedures (e.g., joint injections, skin biopsies, I&D).
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based medical guidelines, pharmacology, and diagnostic principles.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited university.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.

Preferred Education:

  • Additional training or certification in areas such as geriatrics, sports medicine, or palliative care is a plus.

Relevant Fields of Study:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-10+ years post-residency. We welcome both new graduates and experienced physicians.

Preferred: 2+ years of experience practicing in an outpatient primary care or community clinic setting is highly desirable.
