Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Greet guests in a warm, professional manner upon arrival, manage reservations, and escort them to their tables, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Present menus and provide detailed information regarding ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens to help guests make informed choices.
- Offer personalized menu recommendations and actively promote daily specials, signature dishes, and beverage pairings to enhance the guest's dining experience.
- Accurately capture and enter guest food and beverage orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring clear communication of any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen team.
- Deliver food and beverage orders from the kitchen and bar to guests' tables in a timely and organized manner, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Proactively monitor and observe the guest dining experience, checking back to ensure satisfaction with each course and addressing any issues promptly and courteously.
- Prepare and present accurate guest bills, process payments through various methods (cash, credit, room charge), and handle financial transactions with precision.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the full menu, including wine lists, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages, to answer guest inquiries confidently.
- Set up dining areas for service by arranging table settings, polishing silverware and glassware, and ensuring all service stations are fully stocked and organized.
- Continuously maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant, including tables, chairs, floors, and service areas, throughout the shift.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including responsible alcohol service and proper food handling procedures.
- Skillfully upsell and cross-sell menu items, premium beverages, and desserts to increase revenue and enhance the guest experience.
- Build rapport with guests and create a loyal clientele by providing consistently exceptional and personalized service.
- Respond to guest complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism, seeking to resolve issues effectively and escalating to management when necessary.
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow from order to delivery.
Secondary Functions
- Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of special events, private parties, and banquets hosted within the establishment.
- Support the F&B management team with monthly and weekly inventory counts of beverages, serviceware, and other restaurant supplies.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings and departmental meetings to stay informed about specials, promotions, and operational updates.
- Contribute to maintaining the restaurant's ambiance by adjusting lighting, music, and temperature as needed and directed by management.
- Provide support to other team members during peak service hours, including assisting hosts, bussers, and bartenders as required.
