Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively develop and nurture a loyal client portfolio through consistent, personalized outreach, including phone calls, emails, and digital messaging about new arrivals and curated selections.
  • Conduct in-depth, one-on-one styling consultations, both in-person and virtually, to accurately assess client needs, body shape, personal style, and lifestyle requirements.
  • Drive and exceed ambitious personal sales targets and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by maximizing every client interaction and leveraging expert product knowledge.
  • Curate and present complete head-to-toe looks for clients, incorporating apparel, footwear, and accessories to create compelling and cohesive wardrobes for various occasions.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of current and emerging fashion trends, seasonal collections, designer backgrounds, and the specific details of fabric, fit, and construction.
  • Manage the entire client journey seamlessly, from initial appointment scheduling and preparation of a personalized fitting room to processing transactions and arranging for any necessary alterations.
  • Build and maintain detailed client profiles within the CRM system, meticulously tracking preferences, purchase history, and important personal dates to anticipate future needs.
  • Act as a primary resource for high-value clients, providing exclusive access to pre-sale events, limited-edition items, and trunk shows to foster loyalty and engagement.
  • Plan, host, and actively participate in in-store clienteling events, workshops, and styling presentations to attract new clientele and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Provide exceptional after-sales service, including following up on purchases to ensure satisfaction and offering guidance on garment care and integration into their existing wardrobe.
  • Skillfully handle complex customer service situations, resolving issues with empathy, professionalism, and discretion to protect the client relationship and brand integrity.
  • Utilize digital styling tools, social media platforms, and lookbook creation software to visually communicate style concepts and engage with a wider client audience.
  • Collaborate with store management and buying teams by providing insightful feedback on client preferences, product performance, and observed market trends.
  • Continuously educate clients on the value, quality, and heritage of the brands and products offered, telling compelling stories that resonate and create desire.
  • Master the store's full product inventory, knowing what is in stock, what is coming soon, and where to source items from other locations to fulfill client requests.
  • Network effectively within the local community and at social events to generate new business leads and establish yourself as a go-to style expert.
  • Prepare and present personalized style edits and "closet-in-a-box" selections for clients who prefer remote shopping experiences.
  • Assist clients with comprehensive wardrobe planning, including closet organization, seasonal updates, and travel packing strategies.
  • Mentor and guide junior sales associates, sharing product knowledge and best practices for elevated customer service.
  • Maintain the visual and organizational standards of the styling suite, fitting rooms, and sales floor to reflect a luxury brand environment at all times.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist with visual merchandising updates, ensuring the sales floor is impeccably presented and aligned with brand directives.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts, stock organization, and replenishment to ensure product accessibility and accuracy.
  • Support the execution of in-store marketing events, promotional activities, and trunk shows from a sales and service perspective.
  • Contribute to team meetings by actively sharing client feedback, sales insights, and observations on local market trends and competitor activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep knowledge of fashion history, designers, garment construction, and fabric types.
  • Proven expertise in personal styling techniques, including color theory and body shape analysis.
  • Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems for sales, returns, and inventory lookups.
  • Strong command of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software for clienteling and data management.
  • Digital literacy, including the use of styling apps, social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest), and basic lookbook creation tools.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to read and analyze sales reports and KPIs.
  • Experience with inventory management and stock control procedures.
  • Competency in scheduling and appointment management software.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5+ years in a client-facing retail or sales role.
