Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Pose for and collaborate with photographers in studio and on-location settings for a variety of media, including print catalogs, lookbooks, magazine editorials, and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Walk in runway shows during fashion weeks, trade shows, and private client events, demonstrating the specific walking style and attitude required by the designer.
  • Participate in multiple fittings with designers, pattern makers, and stylists to ensure garments fit properly and to provide feedback on wearability and movement.
  • Interpret the creative director's, designer's, and photographer's vision, effectively translating their concepts into a specific mood, expression, and pose.
  • Maintain the specific physical and aesthetic standards required by the agency and clients for the duration of a contract, including specific measurements and hair/skin condition.
  • Present clothing, accessories, and footwear in a compelling manner that highlights key features, fabric movement, and overall design aesthetic for e-commerce and product photography.
  • Perform quick and efficient garment changes backstage during high-paced runway shows or between looks during photoshoots, often with the assistance of a dresser.
  • Hold physically demanding poses for extended periods, demonstrating patience and physical stamina under bright lights and challenging environmental conditions.
  • Travel nationally and internationally for assignments, often on short notice, and adapt quickly to new time zones, cultures, and work environments.
  • Attend casting calls, go-sees, and client meetings to audition for potential jobs, presenting your portfolio and a professional demeanor.
  • Work effectively with a wide range of props, sets, and sometimes animals to create a dynamic and engaging final image or scene.
  • Collaborate professionally with a diverse creative team, including hair stylists, makeup artists, fashion stylists, art directors, and other models.
  • Memorize and execute choreographed routines, walking patterns, and specific movements for runway presentations and video shoots.
  • Participate in video shoots for commercials, brand films, and social media content, which may require basic acting or dialogue.
  • Engage with press, buyers, and high-profile clients during promotional events, acting as a direct representative of the brand.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the technical design team on the fit, comfort, and functionality of prototype garments during development stages.

  • Meticulously build, curate, and maintain a professional modeling portfolio (both physical and digital) that showcases versatility and range.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:
