Primary Functions
- Perform continuous on-site observation of work in progress, verifying that all activities and materials conform to the approved project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

- Monitor and document contractor adherence to safety regulations and site-specific health and safety plans, immediately reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field testing and monitoring equipment to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of collected data.
- Act as a primary point of contact on-site, effectively communicating with contractors, superintendents, and other stakeholders to facilitate project coordination.
- Measure and record quantities of completed work to assist in the verification of contractor pay applications and project progress payments.
- Observe and document utility installations, earthwork operations, and foundation construction to ensure compliance with geotechnical and civil engineering requirements.
- Perform inspections of erosion and sediment control measures to ensure environmental compliance throughout the duration of the project.
- Assist in the coordination of third-party special inspections and materials testing services, reviewing their reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize GPS and other survey equipment to verify layout, location, and elevation of site features and construction elements.
- Attend and actively participate in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and safety briefings to stay informed of project objectives and challenges.
- Document all field instructions, clarifications, and changes issued to the contractor to maintain an accurate record of project modifications.
- Monitor weather conditions and their potential impact on construction activities and material placement, documenting any delays or necessary adjustments.
- Conduct final punch list inspections with the project team to identify any remaining deficiencies or incomplete work prior to project closeout.
